The background is a scan of some old dirty paper that i touched up A LOT in photoshop. I then took the photograph cropped out the background cleaned up a few things then took it into illustrator and used the live trace tool and combined several variations till i was happy with the over all look of it then i manually adjust a few details. Its all vector art except for the background. This particular one was fairly easy some of the other ones took a lot more work.
