Description

Yes, I did a Zelda artwork in anticipation for Tears of the Kingdom, haha. And well, I decided to to an illustration based on the final battle against Ganon as seen in "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time". After Ganon has knocked the Master Sword far away from Link's reach, will the Hero of Time be able to defeat the Demon King? Things are starting to look grim...

And yeah, this may be the most important battle in the series, since this is where different event occurs depending on the outcome. If Link wins, Ganon gets sealed, leading to the events of The Wind Waker after Ganon escapes and Hyrule is flooded, while The Hero of Time goes back to the past, leading to the events of Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. In the other outcome, Link gets killed by Ganon, and the Demon King gets the whole Triforce but the Sages seal him in the Dark World, but the monster begins planning his escape and the takeover of Hyrule, leading to the events of A Link to the Past. So yeah, pretty crucial moment indeed.

In terms of the artwork itself, I really wanted to convey the dark mood that was seen in the original N64 version of the game, since Ganon was barely visible and you could only get a glimpse of his grotesque shape when lighting strikes, while in the 3DS remake, despite the great graphics, the mood isn't the same due to the increased lighting. And also, gotta love Ganon's beast form in this, since he keeps that porcine face as seen in the first games, but the ape like body, the horns and the reptilian tail really sells you that this thing is in fact an evil abomination.

Hope I get inspired enough to do more artworks based on Zelda bosses! They can be pretty epic, hehe
