Only thing that I thought was weird was his oversized feet.

Don't feel so bad about this work. It looks pretty good despite the intention. It didn't remind me of Iron Man nor can I notice too much Iron man afterwards. It reminds me of the Ver.ke Megaman x design that was done as both a joke and a figurine.
If the description was meant to be a joke. Then sorry I was convinced otherwise.
I do understand the concern though. It does have some top heaviness and empowerment that contrasts with the cheerful, naive personality Volnut has in Megaman Legends on the other hand it does show the stronger side of him. The armor design can be its own standalone Megaman or remake.
