Description Unicorn Persuasion

By Invader-Hime

To most ponies, The Everfree Forest wasn't a welcoming place.  The seasons passed without pony intervention and the animals took care of themselves, quite unlike the rest of Equestria.  This notion made the forest exist outside of most ponies' comfort zones.  It was only logical that if one was outside of his or her comfort zone in the company of other ponies, that they would make their home in such a place.
The pink unicorn filly smiled impishly and gazed up at the treehouse.

"Darkstar?  Are you awake?  Come on out of there!  I know you are there!"

There was a rather nonplussed grunt from inside the arboreal bungalow.

"Come out!  This is your last chance, Darkles!"

When her demand went unheeded, The unicorn grinned wider.  Her eyes narrowed in concentration and pink energy flickered around her horn.

"I'll drag you out myself!  I promise!"

"I'd like to see you try, being down there and all," came the droll comment.

The light around the unicorn's horn intensified and she sent a pink, glittering cloud through the air, up into the tree and inside Darkstar's treehouse.  She tapped her hoof on the ground once, as if bracing herself.  Then, she pulled her neck back, as if she were reeling in a fish on a line.  The analogy did not seem too far off in her eyes.  She heard a series of crashes and a cry of surprise from a very grumpy pegasus.  With a final "pull, "  Charmcaster managed to get Darkstar out of his tree house and into the air in front of her, contained in a field of pink, glittering magic dust.

The pegasus tried in vain to right himself, but the magic kept turning him upside down.

"What...What are you doing?" the shabby pegasus demanded harshly.

"Making sure you get out of bed on time...and help me with finding that ancient royal ruin,"

"Tch.  What for? The Elements of Harmony aren't there anymore and it is a giant death trap."

"Call me curious," the unicorn requested, teasingly.  She batted her eyes at Darkstar, "And who better than a big, strong pegasus like you to come along and protect me?"

Darkstar scoffed from his glittering prison.

"You and I both know that you don't need anyone to protect you,"

Charmcaster smiled and tossed her white mane.

"Well, we both agree on that.  I don't need you to protect me.  I want you to.  Mostly because

"You've got the wrong pegasus,"

Seizing the moment, Charmcaster smirked.  With a flick of her head, her magic dissipated and Darkstar fell to the ground in an unceremonious pile.  His scraggly tail hung in his face somehow and his scruffy wings were bent at odd angles.  He carefully untangled himself and got to his feet.

"What was that all about?" he huffed.

Charmcaster batted painted lashes at him slowly.

"You know, you're right,"

Darkstar raised an eyebrow.

"About what?" he asked suspiciously, a pale blue eye moving up and down the filly for any indication that another magical assault to come his way.

However, Charmcaster actually turned away from him and began to walk back towards Ponyville.

"That you were the wrong pegasus to ask.  I wonder what Luckystar is doing today?  I'm sure he's not to busy for a bored filly who longs for adventure and

Darkstar blinked and pondered for a moment before trotting after her.

"You don't need to ask Lucky.  I'll go with you and look for whatever it is you are looking for in there.  I mean, he doesn't even live in Ponyville.  You'd waste half the day just finding his glittering hindquarters.  Besides, Luckystar doesn't even know his way around these woods.  I would have to come looking for both of you,"

Charmcaster stopped in her tracks and batted her lashes at him again before letting out an excited squeal.

"Oh, Darkles!  I knew you would come around!  Now I just have to get you to come around the ruins with me.  But, I think you're just the pegasus for the job,"

Charmcaster immediately spun around and began to head away from Ponyville again.  Darkstar suddenly wondered if she had ever intended to leave in search of his twin.  The unicorn pressed up against his side and smiled at the way he tensed and the slight blush

"Uhhhh...sure," Darkstar answered as they headed deeper into the Everfree Forest.

"Not that I'd mind being lost in the woods with Luckystar," she added as a last minute jab, just to make sure he knew she meant it.
