Alias/Nicknames: Mona, Saik, Tallest Grey, Sugar/Sugarfly, Butterfly/Lady Butterfly, etc. etc.

Appearance: A Tallest-class irken with pale, fair skin. Her antennae are long, about waist-length, curled at the bottom. Attached on either at about shoulder-height is a butterfly-wing-like form, not a natural part of the antenna itself. Because of the weight of these, Monarch will normally hold her head up quite straight, in a regal manner. Her eyes are a mid-grey, often appearing deep and solemn. Above her left eye are three orange piercing-like buttons, circular and made from metal. She has two piercings in her lower lip, one gold and one silver, both located on the right hand side of her mouth. Her teeth are pinker than those of an average irken. On her right arm is a black tattoo, on top resembling two arrow-points, beneath showing the bars forming into two Zs, standing for “Zryin Zaeger”, the name of the vortian who created her cloned body. She wears a very long, white scarf, almost all the time, along with two bangles, one gold, one silver, which she never takes off (Recent update: She no longer wears these, as she has given one each to Fibra and Queen.). On her right hand, first finger she wears two more rings, again, one gold and one silver. All her garments are purposefully asymmetrical. Her PAK has grey coverings on it.
Scars: One very large one running from her right shoulder down to her left hip, and another circular one at her left shoulder.

Age (Physical): Thought to be about 150 years old.
Age (mental, development): About 280 years old. (28 in terms of human maturity)
Height: 231cm (7’7”)

Story: To begin Monarch’s back-story, Saik’s back-story must first be understood. Born as a clone of the notorious irken killer, and created by Vortian scientist Zryin Zaeger, Monarch began her life as “Mona”, Zryin’s little joke name coined after the famous Human painting, the Mona Lisa. Because she was activated at the physical age of 200, Mona was implanted with false memories of her youth, to block out the previous memories in her PAK from Saik’s life. Zryin speculated that these memories could cause Mona to revert back to Saik’s broken mental state, thus the implants. ‘Mona’ spent most of her first years working in a small asteroid-based cafe, where she met many of her friends, including Leslie Zaeger and Fallowyn. Somehow, though, after about ten years of work, she was tracked down by A.I., who forced her to participate in a long tournament-like competition in order to try and break her mind, offering a reward to be gained at the end in order to prove he could be a fair player. During the tournament, Mona discovered her true origins, and underwent a huge amount of mental and physical change- And to A.I.’s frustration she emerged from the competition a much more aware, more mature version of Mona, and realised who she was to become, too- Monarch. At first, she was confused as to how she could look so similar to the previous Monarch, who had apparently disappeared about forty years prior to Mona’s awakening- It was Fallowyn who convinced her that they really were the same person. Fallowyn warned her that through some inexplicable event (the Alt-Eal could only foresee a ‘black tunnel’) she would end up travelling back many years into the previous era. Only a few years after the beginning of her reign in her own era as Tallest, Monarch once again, disappeared (thanks to the plot of one of Zryin Zaeger’s other creations, A.I.), reappearing in the past Fallowyn had explained to her, thus, completing the circle of her travel.
Being in the past, Monarch thought that perhaps she had a chance to alter some of the things ‘older’ Fallowyn had told her about- namely, their first meeting, in which Fallowyn lost both her lover and her unborn child. She sought out the planet that Fallowyn told her that she would be found on- alas, despite her knowledge, Monarch still only arrived in time to beat away Fallowyn’s attackers- During this battle, Fallowyn took a serious blow to the stomach that caused the egg she was carrying to break inside her. Monarch only just managed to get her to a medical centre in time. After this, she partly realised that there was no point in trying to change the past- what ‘was going to happen’, had really already happened.
After this incident, Monarch took the younger Fallowyn on as her advisor, and took a position as a Tallest in the irken empire. She gained a squad of Elites dedicated to serving her- among these elites was Betelgeuse, who as Saik, she had been very good friends with. After living in this position for about ten years, she watched Saik compete- and die- in the Blood-Sport. After this, she became slightly more detached from the empire- distancing herself from her elites and often moving off to pursue her own agenda without leaving any form of notice. During this period of time she met Queen (C ~DiabloZERO-GodofHell ) with whom she formed the strongest of friendships. With her PAK growing more unstable and her yearning for the friends she remembered from her time as Mona growing stronger, finding a new friend in the era that she lived in currently was important in keeping her together, and mentally sound.
Soon after this, she begins to doubt her feelings for Betelgeuse while working fiercely on a peace campaign. She promoted Betelgeuse in an effort to keep herself from possibly hurting him (as in the future he acts distant and cold towards her younger self), only to find that she broke his heart by doing so, thus completing that part of the cycle.
In despair and due to a machine implanted within her PAK by A.I., she began having terrible nightmares that robbed her of sleep and caused her to lose weight to the point at which she very nearly died from starvation. Luckily, her friends were there to help her through it, and when the Violence Suppressor was removed from her PAK, the dreams stopped.
After an assault on Irk during which she was seen by Thymel fighting and killing Vespenons, her reign as a Tallest ended when Thymel released some film of her battle to the other Tallests, therefore destroying her chances at a credible peace campaign and her honour as a Tallest. She stood down from the position shortly afterwards, and currently is going into hiding in order to ‘disappear’ from the empire records and wait it out until her own time.

Personality: Monarch tends to be generally light hearted, bubbly and positive. She has the attitude of an airheaded hippie and tends not to worry too much about things unless they are a danger to people, or make others feel unhappy (Lately with a mountain of troubles on her back this has become a strained perspective). She tries to live for the current time that she is in. She has a tendency to do things unexpectedly, and isn’t very good at making her mind up about things (it was this side of her that earned her the nickname ‘Butterfly’ from Leslie- “Irkdamn, girl, you’re just like a butterfly that doesn’t know what flower to land on, huh?” ). Underneath this exterior lies some of Saik’s previous determination and seriousness however, so it is best not to provoke her too much. She doesn’t anger often, but there are certain triggers (like calling her a freak, for example) that come close to pushing her over the edge. She dislikes people who are grumpy or short-tempered, and does not tolerate them well, however, she does her best to act civil around them and if she can, will try to help them sort things out. Anything violence-related generally upsets her though, and too much talk of death and fighting is apt to make her cry, or otherwise angry. The sight of blood generates an extreme reaction of disgust, to the point that the sight of it makes her vomit. This was originally due to a ‘violence suppressor’ placed in her PAK by Zryin, but now appears to be a reaction generated by her own feelings.
Monarch has a love of dissymmetry, new places and new experiences. She will try almost anything once.
When the need to fight arises she relies more on the Saik side of her personality and reactions in the face of danger. Though scared, she rises over her fears in most cases. The danger of her overriding her normal state is that she also gains some of Saik’s tendencies- when fighting, she either looks dead serious, or tries desperately not to smile in the way Saik normally did when in her ‘eccentric’ mode. Though scared of re-becoming Saik, she accepts that she is part of herself and tries her best to live the way she hadn’t gotten to in her previous life.
When in a large amount of pain, she also relies on her memories- withdrawing to places where pain was more tolerable, or at least familiar, for example, the beating she used to receive as a smeet.

Fears: Lasers, shadowy figures and death.

Strengths: Monarch is a pretty adept fighter, having had previous military training as well as two lives worth of combat experience. As with Saik, she has a strong knowledge of weapons and training to survive in tough situations. She is very tall, and her attacks hold much more power than previously, even if she is not exceptionally physically strong- and this is especially when augmented by her Claw-arm upgrade, which multiplies her strength by ten. She can think on her feet, and has great flexibility and excellent balance. She is faster than the average irken, but not by too much. Being a Tallest she has the ability to ‘float’ or hover above the ground, though it is not a fast means of transport. Aside from her standard-claw-arm upgrade, the claw-arm also possesses a shield function, which is able to deflect all but the strongest of attacks. Her PAK, besides this, also contains a set of spider-legs (now rather broken and blunted), and other standard irken technology. Due to Zryin’s modifications, unlike Saik she can now use the PAK-legs and the claw-arm at the same time. She can fire a handgun with almost perfect accuracy, though she dislikes using them.

Weaknesses: Monarch cannot stand the sight of gore or blood when she is not in the right mind set for it- she will throw up or retch in response to it. Her antennae have been damaged and altered slightly and this can on some occasions affect her hearing badly, and besides this, they are also heavy and can prevent head-movement in some cases. She still has a slight tendency to stop fighting if struck in the gut, as she was so used to doing as Saik (it would wind her severely due to her cybernetics). She will also occasionally misjudge the length of her own limbs and/or her size if she is too preoccupied, due to her memories getting muddled. She can be reckless at times because of this, too.

Fighting style: Monarch tends to be very straightforward and ruthless in hand-to-hand combat, though she also can rely on evasive tactics in the event where her blood thirst is not too strong. When tilting more towards an eccentric-Saik side, she will become less evasive and more straightforward in her attacks, often unleashing brutal strikes with her claw-arm. Monarch, unless she has almost completely gone to Saik-mode, is extremely angry or cannot get through a situation otherwise, will try her best NOT to strike fatally on purpose. She will wound or badly maim, but she does not want to kill anyone unless she has to. When angered, she tends to show a lot more strength, taking a reckless approach. She uses her PAK-legs very skilfully to attack.

TL;DR: Monarch is completely impossible to sum up satisfactorily and this is the best it is gonna be, so SHE'S NORMALLY A NICE PERSON BUT SHE GETS CRAZY SOMETIMES BLOO BLOO BLOO.

Aaah, to be honest, Monarch's so complicated I'll never be able to create a reference that satisfies me. The above is her new standard Tallest dress, but she's not a Tallest anymore, so LOL. I still like that design though.
