C: Thymel, just chillin'.

I really like Thymel as a character. I'm not entirely sure why. He's relatively peaceful, but dedicated to his duty, can be goofy sometimes and is shy around women that he likes. I suppose he never quite stopped kicking himself in the ass for allowing Saik to get injured and kicked out of the army, but in the end, he really did more good than harm to her. Saik probably would have entirely mentally collapsed if he hadn't been there to help her in her years in the military, and Saik hasn't forgotten about that, though she's scared of meeting with him because she has no clue what he would think (Well, he's on orders to shoot her on sight, so you'd rather stay away I suppose.)
Thymel tends to keep an eye on what Saik's doing, but he doesn't interfere directly. He does care, but he's on duty most of the time so can't really show it to anyone except the troops who knew Saik when she was in the army (Most of these troops have moved on to better positions by now.)

On his days off, he prefers to just find a nice place, cool off and think about these kinds of things. Otherwise, he'll be hooning around on his bike!
