#081 Flager - The Cub Pokémon
Type: Fire
Ability: Flash Fire
Dex: The size of the flame on FLAGER's tail indicates if it is close to evolving. Some Flager will intentionally eat flammable items to make it bigger.

Evolves into Inflagetah when exposed to a Fire Stone

Flager is one of the oldest Pokemon designs in Uranium, dating all the way back to v1.0. It actually used to be a starter Pokemon, and a Fire/Ground type at that! But with Orchynx, Flager, and Eletux, we realized that the starters had too much in common; all 3 were quadrupeds, and 2/3rds of them were cats! Now, I love cats, but even I can acknowledge that that was way too many cats. So starting with version 3, Flager was replaced by the current Fire starter, Raptorch. We liked Flager too much to get rid of it altogether though, so we kept it in the game as a regular Pokemon. It lost its Ground subtype, which was probably better for it in the long run.

You can catch Flager in the wild in Route 09 [Fire Valley], in between Legen Town and Route 06. It is a strong Pokemon and can be a great asset to your team, although if you evolve it right away you'll miss out on some great attacks in its moveset, like its signature Flame Impact (lv43) and the powerful Flare Blitz (lv47).
