Description
Willingly cornered, she’s safe here.
Dark corners hide from prying eyes.
Eyelids squeezed shut.
Monsters can’t see you.  Can’t see you can’t get you.
What do Monsters do, when they get you?
Why not knowing, is she more afraid than if she knew?
She’s hiding again, in the way she always does.
Allowing the darkness to take her.
She's beseiged by the black-eyed midnight,
blurring into shaows, not knowing where they end.
Not knowing where she begins.
Stars flicker.  Flicker and falter into nothing.
For a moment she almost wishes they would shine,
But she’s made that wish before
in deserted post-dusk hours.
Shaded wraiths bequeath her presence,
For all their dark-hour games.
She goes, not quite willingly into their company,
suffers for a lack of hand to hold.
She likes to pretend she’s facing her fears,
as she walks out into their world.
But she wishes she were safe,
willingly cornered.
Her darkness falls.
