*The Promise Land*My eyes open, half-awake, I rise
My hair is a mess
My eyes full of sleep
The blankets over me look like waves on the sea
I look out this window
That not exists in this world
With these eyes
Light is shinning bright as I look
I shield my eyes
Like a knight with his pride
The window grows
Suddenly I'm small
Not in size
Suddenly I'm in Preschool
I wear a pink dress
With bright dots
My sandels are Velcro
And pink as well
I stand up
My hands caked with mud
I look around
I miss this place
Where you never knew that the world might end
In the twelve's
Where the polar bears are happy
And the ice shudders at the idea
Of melting
Where the rainforests are plentlyful
Where we are naïve
My hands are caked with mud
A messy tower placed there
With rocks that are people
Where water had been used
I don't know about the wars
Over the water I used in the dirt
I am in the promise land
Where I am not running away
From the Earth's problems
No one will tell me right now
What they are
I think of peace and happiness for all
The young ones are the kings and queens
Of the future
Of Heaven
And when you say
What happens outside the gate
We fall
Into H*ll
Broken and tattered
Trying to reach our throne
The sky is limitless
And blue
But light and darkness
Are born as one
I see friends beckoning me over
Their legs rich with band-aids
From having fun
Their clothes dirty
With mud and grass stains
I run over
And they hold my hand
Smiling
Not a care in the world
I don't remember the future anymore
I am Preschool once again
