I haven't seen a good Irelia in my life, nor have I once been able to play her well. I'd advice against buying her.

You haven't seen a "good" one, probably because Irelia was never brokenly OP. She's more or less balanced, so you don't actually notice her when she does her job. She's a great jungler, and a decent addition to any team.

I also tried her several times. She is outperformed in any role she would try to play, and hes personal touches I find lacking. The problem is that she's a decent addition to any team while there are many other good or great additions.

Unless you play top elo, one champion "out performing" another in a certain role is unimportant. Player skill determines matches far more than champion ability.
But this is a silly argument.
Let's all just go laugh at Urgot instead.

I've seen good Irelias and good Urgots and I can tell they're balanced enough.
And jungling Irelia is just for showing people how bad you are at playing her, honestly.

All champions are not balanced. Some are clearly worse than others (see: Urgot and Eve [Although Urgot just got buffed]).
In low elo/pub matches, player skill will always dominate over tier listings though. That's a trend that continues until pretty much the top 1% of elo.
I can join a level 8 game and rapeface with Urgot, it doesn't make him a good champion.
