Probably wouldn't give him that much of an advantage, since David's a statue and therefore doesn't have nerve endings to feel pain with.
(Also, I know this is irrelevant to the discussion, but why do the robots in Megaman feel pain? Is it so they can understand humans better and be less likely to go on a killing spree? If so, then fair enough for the ones who have free will like Rock and Roll, but why would you give the Robot Masters that ability when they're expected to go on killing sprees?)

Actually your question is relevent since video game creators don't bother with such details. So therefore David would be able to feel pain and get stunned so Link would have the chance to wail on him.
I've always wondered about why robots feel pain in several games. Androids and cyborgs can feel pain but full out robots? I'm guessing the people behind these games think that no one's gonna complain because the gameplay distracts players from noticing too much of anything >>
