Description Inspired by my recent walk in a park. There's a stream running through it and I was very sad to see how dirty it was. Beautiful swans and ducks swimming amongst plastic bottles, sweet wrappers and other bits of rubbish - not a pretty sight And I'm not just sad for our wonderful nature which we are persistently destroying... all that plastic, it's not going anywhere, most of it is not being recycled and just dumped in the oceans. Are we all eventually going to drown in it?

My family are now on a mission to use as little plastic as possible. We never used to buy water in plastic bottles and always bring our own bags to the supermarket but now we're making even more effort. It turned out to be rather challenging but we won't give up - from using wood and bamboo tooth brushes, bar soap instead of shower gel and handwash, reusable glass bottles and stainless steel lunch boxes, cooking at home and buying groceries locally, with minimum plastic packaging... I think we can make a difference. Join in.

It is a very sad concept and yes, as a society we are not as kind to our living space and fellow occupants (animals, birds, etc) because we have no respect for not just their home but our home which is extremely dismaying and sad.

I often wonder how the world will end up in years from now simply from rubbish..

That aside, a moving and well executed painting.. Its lovely..

A simple but powerful message; it's tragic and horrid when people just chuck rubbish when there is a bin but meters away; but yeah, it gets dumped in the ocean in the end.

Love the rich tones in the kingfisher.

Gorgeous. In the UK there are laws to force the local authority to clean up wasteland but its not used. Volunteers do it but two days later its as bad as ever. Must use less plastic.
