G'day everybody!
Since it was recently my 9 year anniversary here and so much has happened just this past couple of years, I figured it was due for an update! I was just gonna do a journal but I figured it's been too long since I drew this trio, so y'all get both new art and exciting news!
So art wise, as you can see, I got a tablet! I still do traditional art from time to time, but it had always been a life long dream of mine to own a tablet and be able to do digital art without having to use a mouse. I've had it for almost a year now and I absolutely love it! <3 The sole reason I bought one was because I was about to take online classes with a Dreamworks animator as my teacher, said teacher is a friend of a friend of mine and he recommended his classes! It was lots of fun and I feel like I learned lots!

I'm also still in the process of immigrating from Denmark to the United States, after my wife and I had our turtle wedding and I came to visit for the holidays. It's been a long and stressful and exhausting journey, but hopefully we should reach the end of it soon, so I can go back to visit my family after almost a year of not seeing them!
I have a job now that I'm thankful pays well and I actually look forward to, but I'm still working my way into the animation industry. Living in Burbank now, I've met and made friends with many people in the industry, and I'm very grateful to be so lucky!

And speaking of meeting cool people...

... I met Rob Paulsen!! And the rest of the TMNT 1987s cast, Barry Gordon, Townsend Coleman, Cam Clarke, and Renae Jacobs! Long story short, when my wife and I got married at our turtle wedding, we had it included in our prayer that "the rumor of our turtle wedding would spread to those who work on Ninja Turtles and we can meet Rob, Barry, Townsend, and Cam", and then a month shy of our 1 year anniversary, our prayer was answered! We got the VIP treatment and sat behind them, waiting for them to get through the long line so we could meet them last, and they were such incredibly kind people. They didn't rush anyone and took their time to talk to everyone, sign autographs, take pictures, etc., getting through the line took more than an hour. Afterwards we got to tell them our story and how much it meant to us, and they were so sweet reassuring us it meant even more to them.
Donatello has always been and always will be my favourite turtle and it was magical to talk with Barry himself (he was so excited about my immigration haha), but to tell Rob, Yakko Warner (AND HE DID THE YAKKO VOICE), how much Animaniacs had meant to me growing up, how it helped me learn English, how it inspired so much art, was a dream come true. I still get emotional every time I pass by the Warner Bros. tower.
And he was so sweet and kind and apparently has Danish heritage! Cam too! I almost fainted shaking Rob's hand and being told he loves æbleskiver!! He also touched my hair when we lined up for the group photo and was amazed by how long it is, haha.
We got to talk with them for almost half an hour (we had been there since 9pm and left well after 11pm) and it was magical, they were just such incredibly kind people and I hope to see them all again sometime!

That's really what I wanted to talk the most about, for obvious reasons lmao,, it's just been blowing my mind that 9 years ago, I made this account, barely able to speak English and just wanting to connect and share my art with fellow Animaniacs fans, and now I've met Rob Paulsen himself and got to tell him that story.
