Ariel: Can I....ask you something?

He look's up at her curiously.

Alister: Sure
Ariel: Why....................why do you want to become an archangel?
Alister:.......Same reason as you.
Ariel:.........but......
Alister: Not a good enough explanation for you.

She sighs as she begins to stare down at him. She notices his playful smile as he stares back.

Alister: If I have to be honest. I was inspired by my dad. He studied biblical history & stories as a hobbie. He was fond of the concept of angels & demons. There classes, ranks, everything. He would tell me that his favorite where the archangels. He thought that it had to be such an honor to be apart of god's army. I told him that one day, I would be apart of that army. I would make him & everyone else proud. He patted my head & told me that he was already proud of me.
One day, I was told by my parents that I would be going to the local big city's prep school for young men. I was excited to be going there to learn more & hopefully study for a decent field to go into. But, my mother told me I had to follow a set of rules. No bringing friends home, no talking about my parents, and I was definitely not allowed to bring my younger siblings along to show them what it was like. No one could find out I came from a poor family setting.
Ariel: That sounds awful.
Alister: ......It wasn't.
I mean, it was weird of her to request that, but I figured it was to keep me from being bullied. Plus, it meant that I would be going to an actual school that not a lot of kids like me could afford.
Some of the other boys would laugh & make fun of the poor. And I would be right along with them. Because I felt like I was one of them. Then one day, there was a cave in at the mines near my home town. I was in school when the news broke. Apparently one of the workers thought it would be easier to use TNT to excavate faster. When they set it off, it completely collapsed a whole 4 sections of the system. My father never made it out in time. And....my friends........snickered.
I completely lost it. I grabbed each & everyone of there little fancy collars & beat the living crap out of them. I didn't stop, not for one second.
Ariel: Al.........I'm so sorry.
Alister: Don't be. I broke the teeth in.
I told myself that if I couldn't make it in the world as someone successful, I could at least make him proud by becoming an archangel.
So what about you?
Ariel:............................how about some other time.
Alister: He he. Sounds good to me Ari.

So yeah. I have been working on story stuff. Ariel & Alister where really close before he fell from heaven. Also, this is what they looked like before they became who they are now.
