When working with watercolors, I used to add some Indian ink. You could try that to make some effects or to enhance the watercolors.

I feel like that too, sometimes i create something and I love it but after a while I wonder why I once liked it that much, i think it's because we're changing as much as our style and talent

Gollum was the best! i swear he was one of the greatest characters in LoTR.... well... from my opinion.... wonderful painting... i thought his eyes were kinda greenish yelllow.... ... maybe i need to sit down and rewatch the movie... lol

I always found them tricky to work with.
Painting is not my thing really, I did try it once oil based, but I never got round to completing it

oils take alot of practise and lots of patience. Ill work my way up to them sometime

My grandma does them fantastically, just the thing is i've hadn't had the time to take it all in, let alone that I started off using a pencil, I guess i'm just too used to using pencils

yeah painting takes a loose free hand. If I over use a pencil when I work i find it translates to my other work and I become stiff
