Description This place usually reminds me of Alice and wonderland where they are singing "painting the roses red." There are a lot of roses here in the spring. It had a different feel to it when I took this photo. It was really misty and very pretty.

** If this shows up in your new deviations I apologize. I cropped the image slightly to balance out the image. Thanks so much for the suggestion ranchforman

Ok, I usually mind my own business.. sort of.. But this shot caught my attention.
The shot is nearly perfect, and your fear that it may be a little dull is seriously flawed.
This shot has a lot of incredible elements, as well as the "right" photo essentials.
You have the hard lines of the path as some incredible lead lines to the focal subject, which is in
its own right incredible. Your focal length is perfect for this shot, as the metal canopy is in focus
and the trees in the back are not, including the mist, you have here an incredibly mystical shot.
The B&W is perfect for this shot too, as color would have killed the tone and mood of the capture all together.

Now one thing, the shot is off center to the right. You need to crop the shot just enough to make the distance between the right and left the same...

That is all.. This is an incredible shot none the less.. and I well most certanly feature this in my next journal!!

I cropped it as you suggested, and really like the out come. It has been uploaded in place of the old image.

Thank you for the faves and watch as well!

You are welcome, I wasn't sure about how you would handle the critique, as you have an natural eye for perspective, you just need a little work on some detail.. You most certainly have the beginnin of a pro career.. I know that sounds a bit silly comin from me, but you do have the eye and the ability to shoot interesting angles.

The crop looks outstanding, now it is perfection!!!

As I said earlier, I will most certainly feature this in my next journal!!

Maybe that's the title for this. It would make a good location for a gothic style photo shoot, a still dark figure in it. But this is strong enough to stand alone.

Yeah I wish I had somebody in it. Thanks for saying it's strong enough to stand alone. That was exactly what I was worried about.

It's at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham, AL. I like shooting pictures there, and it was great that morning because hardly anybody was there.
