Wow.... nice to know we have something in common here. I don't work for a shelter, but I have 4 rescues. All of them have very special needs all their own, but they are loved and no longer abused!

Well, my kitty rescue happened so long ago he doesn't count. 
We are buying a property in the country (42 acres) and we are going to inherit some more cats from the present owner, probably some chickens too. Oh, and we have one horse rescue and will probably make that at least two before we're done.

I am on the coast of Georgia, just a little bit North of Jacksonville, Florida. It is real pretty here, but so darn hot.

Oh, yes! My mom lived in both Palmetto, LA and Georgetown, GA/Eufala, AL and I remember visiting there. The humidity is a KILLER!
It is lovely in East Texas... west of here it's pretty barren, but south and east is lovely. Not sure it's as lovely as where you're at though. Hey, is this hurricane going to miss you?

I met my huband in El Paso and lived there as a teen. Very barren!
We are on the east coast, and so far there is nothing in the Atlantic by us, thankfully. But our old town near Corpus may get hit.
I'm originally from New Orleans. My entire family, relatives, were hit by Katrina. It sucked.

I am sorry to hear about your relatives getting hit by Katrina. That was such a tragedy! And what happened later was even more so.

If I could get my cats and dad to agree I'd already have a dog. My older two cats have decided to take it upon themselves to greet every wayward canine with paws and claws of steel, when the neighbors doxies bark my 7lb female rumbles like a little tiger.
