Description Weißgerbergasse is often cited as the most beautiful street in Nuremberg, or, at the very least, the most unique one. Indeed, whereas most of the buildings in the city are constructed from characteristic sandstone, this street is full of typical Franconian timber-framed houses. It's one of the very few streets that survived the Allied bombings completely intact and offers a glimpse into the past of Nuremberg. The street has historically been populated by the so called white leatherworkers, who used a variety of chemical agents to bleach leather and give it a neat white appearance.

That's the only one of this kind in Nuremberg.

Oh, that is pretty! Almost every german city has one or two streets like that, but this is especially cool ^^

The bombing of historical cities and innocent civilians were war crimes.

I fully agree with you - the destruction of historical heritage and especially the senseless butchering of civilians were atrocious! It's our duty to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.

Too bad we only started to care about each other after the wars.
