This picture could be part of a story in which a villain has been commiting robberies. Supergirl has finally tracked him down and is now confronting him, intending to take him to prison. Villain: "Welcome, Supergirl!" Supergirl: "You don't seem surprised to see me!" Villain: "I'm not! I anticipated your arrival! In fact, I even have a gift for you!" The villain takes out a lead box and opens it. The box contains Kryptonite attached to a heavy iron chain, which the villain places around Supergirl's neck. Supergirl: "NO!!! Kryp...tonite! Feeling...weak! Losing...my...powers...!" Villain: "That's right, Supergirl! It's Kryptonite-the one substance that can weaken you!" Supergirl: "This was...a trap...!!" Villain: "Of coarse thisvwas a trap! Why do you think you found me so easily?" The villain lifts the helpless Supergirl and tosses her into the river. As she's drowning, Supergirl struggles to keep her head above water and tries to get rid of the Kryptonite but is so weak that she cannot lift the heavy iron chain and eventually vanishes into the water. Villain: "Goodbye, Supergirl! Instaed of the Girl of Steel, you are now a mere girl of mud! And a dead one at that!" The villain laughs, thinking that Supergirl is dead; what he doesn't know is that is Aquaman, who suspected that Supergirl was in trouble, has rescued her by getting rid of the Kryptonite. Supergirl: "Thanks, Aquaman!" Aquaman: "Are you all right?" Supergirl: "I'm fine! I can feel my powers returning!" Supergirl apprehends a very surprised villain and takes him to prison as he wonders what went wrong!

With crime rates at all-time lows and the population feeling safer than ever, it sounds like a perfect time for Supergirl to reward herself with a leisurely fly-by, and take in the sights of a city with a brighter future than ever before. Cue the eager fan who kindly asks for a picture, and she’s happy to oblige, posing confidently and making that person’s day before taking off for more sight-seeing.

This suit from the Supergirl TV series is rendered nicely, even a shade or two lighter; which also works nicely in its favour. It really emphasises the classic look we’ve all loved while highlighting, as malth put it, the futuristic high-tech aspect of it. The look of hair and pose certainly works, and the background is rather lovely, with all manner of natural and architectural beauty to gaze at.

Perhaps a slight thing I think needs a tweak is the skin, either making it a shade lighter or highlighting it in spots to reflect the beautiful sunlight on display. I’d also ask whether even a small smile would kill her or not, then again, since I talked about crime earlier, it could reflect that she’s been having a rough few weeks keeping the city from chaos, which would be perfectly fine.

To think this work took as much time to render as a cup of coffee is frankly ludicrous, but that’s the beauty of technology! Anyway, regardless of my slight criticisms, well done for this wonderful work on display here, and keep up the quality renders!

Very impressive, your work as well as the render time:  both are really amazing!  I keep thinking about buying Octane, but I can't bring myself to buy a plugin that costs more than Poser.

Thanks bud,  I know what you mean about the cost of octane, but that and spending way too much moneys on gfx cards, are probably the best decision I made in regards to my 3d renders.

Out of curiosity can you use two cards with Octane?   I got a decent card (GTX 980) in my main gaming rig.   I am tempted to do more than play games with it.

I own the latest version of Reality for Poser, but it's so freakin' slow. I basically don't use it because of that.  With Octane I got to admit that this is one case where you get what you pay for.

Yeah, octane supports multiple card.  I'm currently running 5, 4 gtx780s and a 760.  Basically the more cards and cuda cores you have the quicker your octane renders will be.  If you run 2 980s it will be basically twice as quick as running 1 980.  The best thing is, because octane doesn't need the cards to be linked via SLI, you can pretty much use any combination of nvidia cards.  If you just wanted to boost your render speeds, I'd keep an eye out for a used gtx780, they're still the best bang for your buck in terms of cuda cores to cost ratio.  As an alternative to octane and poser, daz now comes with nvidia Iray, which is also a GPU based render engine and performs similarly to octane and its free.

Thanks for the info, ironhead333.  Much appreciated!  That's a very impressive set-up you have.   I use Daz, but haven't enjoyed the results with iray.  So much of what I see with Iray is still very grainy, meaning  they took it out the rendering oven too early lol.  If I decide to go with Octane, I'll keep your suggestions in mind.  One of my other gaming rigs uses the GTX780, definitely a good card.  Like many  PC gamers, I have built my own rigs in the past.  Right now I am daydreaming about making a rig just for rendering.  That could be a fun project.
