Here is the reason why I have been a little quiet on DA of late... I have been working on artworks for a deck of tarot cards. There are 78 crads in the deck and each one needs a painting. Quite a big project! I also have an extensive manuscript to follow that has been written by the deck's author.These are a sample of some of the Trump and Court cards. I have tried to use angles compositions and strong light sorces to add to the drama. With so many artworks to complete there is a limit to the time that can be spent on each one, but I hope that the set as a whole will make an interesting visual impression
Previously I didn't know much about the symbolsim and history of the tarot so it has all been quite educational

I own this deck and I have to commend you on the work you put into the cards! They are quite nicely done! Sadly I have dubbed this deck as my "Evil Deck" as I have yet to do a nice reading from the cards. But still. Amazing work!

Stunnig artwork for a Tarot deck. Some of the Arcana reminds me of a Necronomicon deck I bought recently. Congratulations, Ironshod. Whoever holds these Arcana must feel deeply immersed in the world they depict.

Hey! I saw these cards for sale at the bookstore.
I liked the card designs, but I decided to go with the Mystic Dreamer (I believe that's the name) deck instead, which was also designed by a DA member.
I really like that deck, but there's too much use of the moon and birds in the background. It makes things lose their symbolic meaning.
Very nice work with your card designs. I like how each of the people (or beasties heheh) has a unique pose, that they all aren't just looking directly at you. Although the color schemes are somewhat "dark", I really like how not all the cards are following the same scheme. Wide pallette.

these are good. a little dark for me but i still like them. my deck that i favor is technically a starter deck. lol it has the meanings and revers meanings on the cards itself so i dont half to pull out my book and look them up!!! and they talk to me all the time!! makes me happy. lol bt they dont have a name. the style is ancient woodcuts though. and there very old. gotta love those hand-me-downs.

As Tarot Reader of over 30 years, I find your interpretation of some of the cards - Justice, World, Wheel - fascinating and very beautiful. I guess they are inspired by the two books that came before this deck? I haven't read them, so I wouldn't know. I certainly want to get a closer look at this deck next time I'm anywhere near a place where they sell it...
