Kingdom Hearts, Tron Legacy - Riku

Another small teaser, but with the front this time. All of the main parts are complete; I'm just missing some of the minor things as such as the Org Necklace, the blindfold (both of which I forgot to bring), and gloves.

The Wig - I layered it and sectioned most of it off to be readied for downward spiking, but I'm on the fence of actually doing it. On one hand, the wind won't destroy the wig as bad as it did during the cosplay meet (it was decently windy ughhh), and it would be more accurate to the in-game polygons. Oddly enough, Riku's hair in the cutscenes aren't spiked down. *shrugs* I probably won't spike it down since this is an indoor costume anyway.

The cosplay: Pleather. A LOT of it. In fact, everything is made out of pleather. I absolutely hate working with pleather and continually cursed it in my twitter posts/facebook posts. It has got to be one of the most... obnoxious things to sew and put on and walk around in. Especially the pants... every time I walk I hear the sound of plastic rubbing on each other. DID I MENTION HOW OBNOXIOUS PLEATHER IS?

The small gaps in the shirt and arm-warmers are connected to a sheer tulle (two layers, actually).

The Electronic components: So, this costume has been in planning for nearly 1 year and a half. In that time, I got to learn, mess around with, and study up on all forms of EL/LEDs. Needless to say, this costume is expensive and ridiculously time consuming! However, I saved nearly $150-$200 by connecting, cauterizing/soldering, stripping, and wiring the EL myself. The back has 3 panels, 2 EL tape, and 4 strips. The arm-warmers have 2 tapes on each arm, and the pants have two on the side. The hood, and boots are covered in wire.

Yea, expensive. And that was just the cost of the ELs, which don't include other tiny exponents and necessary items.

The Keyblade: It's an original design and second cosplay item I have ever made. It's actually quite a sentimental item for me. Full details are here - [link] . This keyblade is actually just a placeholder for now. I'm currently working on the "Tron Way to Dawn" (as shown in the DDD previews) and should have it done by Sakuracon.

What else to say...? I look AND feel like a light-up hooker when I wear this, no joke. It's probably the opening in the sides that show unsexy skin. It's weird... I've never actually been called "hot" before (people use feminine adjectives for me) so it's a weird feeling.

Oh, and I can't actually give people hugs because I'm afraid something might slip and I give off a shock. My excuse is to say, "I'm currently turned on right now." I'm not glowing in this picture because I forgot to turn on all the lights XD.
