Sweet, an American engine! I thought the only ones still over there were the USATC S100's...

I could tell it was a US design simply by its chunky lines as opposed to the more refined looking British machines.
That said, i have a weakness for another US designed machine, the S118 class 2-8-2 as we have one (remaining) down here in Queensland as the AC16 class. [link]
Great shot and i look forward to seeing more from you. Instant fave

It's from the NYM railway isn't it? And I've never understood American locomotives, both the United states and the UK made a 2-8-0 for the war effort, and yet again, we turn out a good looking engine and the United states turns out something that has lumps and bumps in all the wrong places..

This is from the Churnet Valley, 2253 is the NYMR S160 and it's in a pretty bad way...

I thought it was from churnet valley, but it has been everywhere this year.
I like it, it has the look of something that was built in the war when times were hard.

That'd be the S160, with USA on the tender as opposed to LMS or LNER or GCR or all that...

United States Army Transportation Corps S160 Class
Class 2-8-0 Consolidation locomotive.
I suppose it should say USATC.
