That's a shame! Been a pretty solid experience, although admittedly I don't expect to play for more than a couple weeks.

I've heard nothing but bad things about it, and the moment I heard that microtransactions were involved, that became an instant "nope."

It's not the best game, but it's definitely been a fun experience to share with friends. I live on NY and I can't look put the window without seeing at least two people playing, it's even crazier in crowded locations where all the good Pokemon appearing. As for micro transactions, they exist, but I haven't spent a penny or know of anyone who has. Ive gotten all the items I've needed from just playing regularly

Unfortunately for me, I have very few friends, so playing isn't worthwhile.

And I've seen very few people playing while I was out and about.

Well, that's good. Glad to know they aren't mandatory, like in other freemium games.

Nope, you can even get coins from the store by overtaking existing gyms. The more play the more I enjoy it. It's not your typical experience, and just gives you one extra thing to do while you're out and about.
