Oh, wait, scratch the other reply. I thought it was another picture of mine. The cranes here are connected by pieces I half-thought up myself which go in the wings. You know how the paper making the wings is somewhat c-shaped? the connecting piece goes inside it, I don't know how to put it. Do I make sense?
The connecting piece look like a box, with its corners looking as in someone dragged them outwards. Do I made sense? I don't think I do.

no, no. I started doing the connections and then pictured in my head what you were explaining and its turning out great.! Ill be sure to post a picture.

I take a bigger square of paper, and when I'm tearing it into smaller squares, I just leave the corners connected and keep folding as normal. It takes some getting used to, but they're really pretty.
