This is one of 6 archetypical character concepts outlined in the Poké RPG . The Researcher, or Scientist, gains the ability to use the Pokédex, create Technical Machines, and improve their Pokémon through scientific enhancement. Intelligence is the core attribute for a Pokémon Researcher, but Awareness and Spirit can prove useful for these characters as well.

For these Archetypes i hope that basing them on familiar trainer art will help tie the character tropes they represent to the trainer types in the games. I started with original trainer art and integrated them into scenes that exemplify their attitudes and personalities. Between retracing, changing poses to fit the scene, adding background elements or Pokémon, recoloring for composition, and shading the lighting effects, i think they turned out pretty well. They are not perfect but hopefully they convey the idea of what types of Trainers players can create in the RPG. The archetypes section, which details potential Traits and Skills a character might take to feel like a specific concept, is almost finished and will be added to the end of the Character Creation chapter.
