The MK19 is a direct upgrade of the typical, military-grade M1911. Featuring an 8 round magazine, integral picatinny rail for lasers, grips, etc., and a barrel ready for muzzle attachments (through a barrel change), the MK19 is a perfect reason why the M1911 is still a viable pistol for today's people. It's also openly available to accept any aftermarket M1911 parts, like barrels, extended magazines, custom hammers, etc.
