Ingyë is the sister of the Vanyar High King, Ingwë. (q. ing "chief, first” + -yë "fem. suffix in Proto-Quendian) She has taken ellyn and ellyth as lovers over the years and has four daughters though she has never married. At the request of her brother, she has ceased to flagrantly have children out of wedlock, but it is suspected that she has a powerful lover that she is seeing discreetly that he has not said anything about.
