Description Rinoa's fighting style is Junction Sorceress. Rinoa's attacks are almost all magical in nature, some are purely magic spells cast, other include her infusing magic into her blaster edge weapon and launching them for various effects. As such, Rinoa is best as a long range fighter, and more versatile in the air than on the ground.


BRV Attacks

Junction-Fire (Ground)
-Launches a fire-infused blaster edge at the opponent. Explodes when it hits. Additional Effect: Chase

Junction-Thunder (Ground)
-Launches a thunder-infused blaster edge at the opponent. Expands into a thunder ball that sends enemies flying if it connects. Additional Effect: Chase

Junction-Protect (Ground)
-Infuses a protect spell into her blaster edge to create a shield to block attacks. Blocking HP attacks will stagger Rinoa along with the opponent.

Quake (Ground)
-Causes tremors in surrounding area that damages enemies on contact. Has limited range.

Thundaga (Ground)
-Conjure several lightning bolts that launches enemies in contact. Additional Effect: Chase

Junction-Blizzard (Aerial)
-Launches an ice-infused blaster edge that encases the opponent in ice and sends them into the floor. Additional Effect: Wall Rush

Junction-Aero (Aerial)
-3 hit combo. Strikes the opponent with an aero-infused blaster edge that sends the opponent away.

Water (Aerial)
-Launches water spheres that track the opponent. Can fire up to 3 spheres. Additional Effect: Chase

Junction-Protect (Aerial)
-Infuses a protect spell into her blaster edge to create a shield to block attacks. Blocking HP attacks will stagger Rinoa along with the opponent.


HP Attacks

Angel Rush (Ground)
-A Short range attack. Rinoa surrounds her body in magic and charges at the opponent.

Meteor (Ground)
-Sends several meteors raining down at the opponent. Each meteor tracks the opponent individually.

Junction-Ultima (Aerial)
-Fires an Ultima-infused blaster edge. If the first hit connects, Rinoa conjures a spherical field of energy that explodes after growing larger.

Meteor (Aerial)
-Sends several meteors raining down at the opponent. Each meteor tracks the opponent individually.

Junction-Holy (Aerial)
-Launches a Holy-infused blaster edge that expands into a pillar of light when the first hit connects.


BRV to HP Attacks

Flare (Ground)
-Chains from Junction-Fire. Creates an explosion around the opponent and sends them into the floor. Additional Effect: Wall Rush

Freeze (Aerial)
-Chains from Junction-Blizzard. Summons a large shard of ice that slams the already encased opponent into the floor.

Tornado (Aerial)
-Chains from Junction-Aero. Creates a tornado that traps the opponent dealing multiple BRV damage and sends the opponent upward.


EX Mode

Rinoa's EX Mode is Angel Wing, where a pair of white angel wings emerge from her back, and equips her ultimate weapon: Shooting Star. While in EX Mode, Rinoa gains the abilities Glide and Angel Wing (MAG). The former lets her fly through the air, while the latter increases the effects of her magic attacks, dealing more BRV damage.


EX Burst

Rinoa's EX Burst is Wishing Star, her most powerful Limit Break in Final Fantasy VIII. Rinoa attacks her opponent with a magic-infused blaster edge, surrounds herself in blue aura and charges forward. Seven blue bars flash by on a power meter, and the player must tap R as the bars flash by in order to increase the damage done by Rinoa's attacks as she hits her opponent seven times. Rinoa finishes her EX Burst by flying over her opponent and blasting down a powerful Holy spell, followed by an explosion of light.

Me like, yep. You could've added another defensive move, I see only one.
"Angel Rush" ....I see what you did there.

All in all, a good mix of her game abilities with Dissidia style. Kudos. Now, for fucks sake Square Enix, READ THESE AND ADD THEM.

What other defensive move would you suggest? Dissidia characters can all guard, and Jecht has 2 guards. ^^

Perhaps something that focuses on the Draw ability? The capability to draw HP or something from the opponent and use it herself.

That would be a little unfair. Every Dissidia character already gets Regen as an ability when they enter EX Mode anyway, so why add an ability that draws HP from the opponent.

For a Draw based ability, the only ability that could be possible is an ability that could allow Rinoa to draw in more EX Force.

I was thinking more of incorporating FF8's Junction System. Rinoa infusing spells with her blaster edge
to attack and defend, something along that. ^^

Its a little hard coming up with a moveset for her, especially since her set of limit breaks always
include Angelo, but I'm thinking her EX Burst should be her Shooting Star Limit Break, but she
doesn't perform it with Angelo, I was thinking she'd perform it like she did in Dead Fantasy.

alternatively you could make rinoah more of a tamer and have angelo fight with her on the field as her melee attack... bit hard to pull off. Squall used a few of Zells moves so it;s ok for her to borrow moves from some of the other characters. her weapon is really awkward. what kind of junction tho? defend, devour,... I can;t think of any usable ones.
her exburst can just be her wings and she uses all her angelo attacks.

Having 2 character models for 1 character can be tough for the game, the game will
even lag a bit when both players call their assist characters, so having Angelo with
Rinoa the whole time in battle will be too much for the game to handle. But if Angelo
were to be included in the game, he'd be an Assist-Only character like Aerith. ^^

As for junction moves its easy. Let's call one of Rinoa's BRV Attacks: "Junction-Fire"

Rinoa infuses fire magic into her blaster edge and launches it as she usually does, only
this has added effect. Rinoa launches her fire-infused blaster edge and if it hits
her opponent, it explodes, and triggers a chase sequence.

Think of the many different effects that could happen if she had "Junction-Blizzard",
"Junction-Thunder", maybe even "Junction-Ultima" for an HP Attack.

Heeeeeey where'd you get my ideas lol. I had the same ideas as you for her moveset. :v

Junction-Thunder could explode with a thunder ball and launch the enemy upwards, junction-blizzard could work like Terra's, which pushes the enemy away for a nice distance.

Though I thought her BRV skills would be something like... She'd equip "Junction Fire" and cast it in battle, she could use Launch just afterwards, which would have fire attributes, and other BRV skills would be just elemental spells.

Her HP skills could be Launch, which she can attribute elements to, and her other, usually Angelo-paired limit breaks, but without Angelo.

Like, for Angelo Rush, she would simply dash at a high speed at the enemy which would function like Lightning's attack, whose name I forgot. Her ex burst would be Wishing Star which would look, as you said, like in Dead Fantasy. <3

I got the idea about incorporating junction moves while I was playing
FF8, I thought the junction system was pretty cool, so I thought it'd be
nice to include that in Dissidia. ^^

Your Junction-Thunder sounds cool, but we could add a chase trigger after
it launches the enemy. My version of Junction-Blizzard is kinda like
Tifa's Blizzaga, Rinoa fires her Blizzard infused blaster edge, and if it
hits her opponent, it encases her opponent in ice and lauches them downward
adding the Wall Rush effect. ^^

Her HP Attacks I'm still thinking about, but I'm definitely sure on Rinoa
performing her Limit Breaks without Angelo. So when Rinoa performs
Angelo Rush, maybe she could rush at her opponent, maybe using some magic
for added power, to cause damage, and instead of Angelo Rush, it could
be called "Angel Rush".

P.S: Where did you get the Launch HP attack from?

Junction Ultima would be cool, like if it hits the enemy, it would create a ball similiar to FF8's Ultima which would grow and deal progressive damage like Terra's Ultima.

Why'd you make up Launch? Its not exactly something Rinoa is capable of.

Junction-Ultima would likely work in a simlar manner as Tidus' Jecht Shot. Rinoa fires her Ultima infused blaster edge, and if it connects, she follows up by expanding the spell, then BOOOM!! HP DAMAGE! XD

For Tornado, I was thinking that it could be a BRV to HP Attack, stemming fromg Junction-Aero. I was think thank Junction-Aero would be a close range attack for Rinoa, kinda like Terra's Blizzard Combo, then connects with Tornado during mid combo. ^^

Apocalypse for Rinoa is possible, but I feel like that move should only belong to Ultimecia, since in FF8 the only way to get Apocalypse is by drawing it from Ultimecia's Final Form.

Btw, what should Rinoa's fighting style be? Like Squall's fighting style is Relentless Revolver, what do you think Rinoa's fighting style should be? I'm kinda leaning towards Junction Blaster, what do you think?

Aero-Tornado actually sounds good, it could take away a nice portion of BRV.

Junction Blaster sounds good, but it could be more like something that refers to her as a Sorceress.

Like Sorcerous Junctioner? Sorcerous Blaster?

the best you could get with including ngelo in her melee would be like yuna's summons so since angelo isn;t magical theres little chance of it being a usable concept yeah.
tho since it;s a melee game she will need actual techniques and all she has to fight with is that blaster edge.it's big enough for her to use as a weapon tho.

I am warming up to this junction idea tho.

Her blaster edge won't be her only weapon, she can cast spells as well
without junctioning them into her blaster edge, plus Rinoa's more of long range
fighter, so shooting her blaster edge and casting spells would suit her best.

With Dissidia/Dissidia 012 characters giving references from their original games,
incorporating the junctions into Rinoa's moveset is a good way to refer to FF8's junction system.
Kinda like how Prishe combines 2 moves into a Skillchain, a direct gameplay reference to FF11.

actually depending on what point in the game she was taken from she could use that feather or w/e magic of hers to summon Angelo like she did squall.

For short range spells, maybe the Quake spell, it could affect opponents around her,
but I don't think it matters, as long as she can fire her blaster edge and cast spells
she can hit opponents far away or near her, but if your talking about a move that only
has limited range, I'd go for the Quake spell.

in the end of the game she used her magic to warp to squall or w/e when he failed to make it back from the time warp haha. I was thinking if you have feathers floating about instead of gifs she could have Angelo in a similar way to Yuna;s summons. like angelos rush or something.

It;s a shame she didn;t use spells in the cut scenes or out of battle like squall did .

Well, the concept of including Angelo in Rinoa's moveset is still debatable, but I'm still sticking to Rinoa performing her moves without Angelo, similar to how Lightning performs her HP attacks without Odin.

yeah not saying that wont work. just she has such a lack in clost combat. Terra had a sword atleast and laguna used his gun as a melee weapon. If fran were in the game she;d just kick the shit out of em...
Quake for a ground spell aaaand aero for mid air? could level up into tornado then holy. apocalypse is the best spell in the game however I never used it so I know nothing of it.

True, and Terra did at least have a close range blizzard spell, so I guess coming up with a short range move for Rinoa couldn't hurt. ^^

As for Aero leveling up into Tornado, maybe that could only happen if she's in EX Mode, after all, Rinoa's magic power increses when in Angel Wing Mode. That could work for her other spells as well, "Junction-Fire" could upgrade to "Junction-Flare", and "Junction-Blizzard" to "Junction-Freeze"

something like that sounds nice. thinking about it. she could use variations of Angelos move. Like rush is a dash move that damages the opponent and theres that grapple move...
the ingame junctions were just inflicting damage of particular elements and the like would rinoa use an advanced version that;s flashier?
