My first attempt at anything more than snapshots with my new digitalcamera.

This is an orange flower that was outside the house. I thought it presented an interesting color and decided to have a go at photographing it. Hell, I even used a tripod

It didn't quite come out right. I'm still getting used to the flash and exposure, but hopefully my skills will improve.

Minimal editing, I only resized it and cropped it a little nicer.
