Description Finished that WIP!

I'm still kinda frustrated at my lack of knowledge about digital arting, so I also want to take this time to thank all the people that've put up a tutorial out there - they're an amazing source and your work is appreciated!

Opening a critique for this one.
I WANT TO LEARN.

The atmosphere is quite nice and I love the colours you've added to his skin tone -the pinks and purples add a very nice contrast to the yellow highlights along his face, and give him a slightly sinister look around the eyes while paired with the green glow. I do think there could be a little more saturation to some of the shadows, as in certain places it looks just a wee bit washed out. Your anatomy is just about spot on as usual, though the cropping does make his arm look a little odd - I feel like we should be able to see a little more of his right forearm rather than just his bicep in the background and his hand. The rest of the colouring looks very solid and I love the straight black hair. The only other thing I would mention is that the tattoo texture on his arm looks a bit flat, and doesn't seem to curve along with his muscles - this can often be fixed by fiddling with the warp tool in photoshop if necessary.
All in all, this is yet another beautiful portrait! I love his hair, and your linework is completely lovely. ♥

The overall portrait is very stunning, sexy, and the expression upon his face is also very well done. The shading is perfect along with the gorgeous tattoo design upon his left arm how it blends with the darkness to light over his muscles. The way his hair flows over his shoulder is also very well done with bits of strands giving that semi-realistic touch. The background is simple and doesn't take attention away from the elf and his very beautiful stare but adds a bit of atmosphere. In conclusion, this portrait is both beautiful and inviting and definitely captures the nature of a male Blood Elf. Very well done!

My favorite thing about this here is all the incredibly fine subtlety with light and shades of color that I'm seeing. Especially over his face, hand, and neck, there. How you did "the fel effect" for the eye is great, it looks really cool! I also think it's good how you have the darker background drawing more attention to the elf himself in this.

LOVE it. Those colors, that pose and anatomy. His expression, the tattoos.

All so scrumptious. Excellent work! Lovely, really.

This is beautiful. The different nuances in the skin are particularly good, as is his expression. He looks dangerous. And, uh. Smouldering. Yeah. No big expert on digital art myself, still very much learning the ropes so not sure how useful I can be there. I think this piece looks good, nothing jumps out or hurts the eyes, rather the contrary. The texture in the background also works well, not overbearing or distracting. Though he does appear to be lacking a nipple

What's your digital process like? The end result looks fabulous but it might be easier to give some sort of helpful tips if you outline the process a little

Bahaha! I just noticed the same, he has no nipple.
Woops! Must've overlooked it.

I usually start as most tutorials have taught me; with the flat colors and then building up with shading, then highlights at the end. I don't yet have a set method yet since I'm still in the experimenting stage where I try various methods to see which looks best/suits me better. I'm not even sure I have a style yet, but I'll keep working at it!

Someone cut it off. And didn't live to tell the tale, by the looks of him...

Where do you keep the lineart? On top of the colour layers, or? Your lines are so neat, I am slightly jealous. How do you do the lineart, just a very small brush or?

Actually, Rhovin is the nicer of the two brothers. The other being his twin, Lutero.

I usually put the lineart on top, yes, and set it to Multiply.
And man, getting the lineart THAT neat takes its time. More time than I would like for it to take.
But I practice, little by little, each day, and read a lot of tutorials and practice those. See which is more comfortable for me.

The picture itself is lineart'd at a high resolution, then shrunk. This kinda smooths over a few imperfections, I've noticed.

In Iseijin's defense, those tattoos are pre-made brushes at my request. I wasn't going to ask her to go on full details of his arms since this was simply an art trade and not a commission.

My only nitpick, is that the tattoo doesn't seem to wrap around the arm. But that's an anatomy nitpick. I love the visual style.

I'd have to say for being unsure about digital art, this came out beautifully!

I'm not sure what what program you use for the paint, or if it allows layers/deletion of said layers, but try for defining the body's shadows with the colour rather than the sketch lines?

to be honest, I'm not too experienced with art programs myself, going to be hopsefully, but hope it's helpful.

Beautiful work though.

His expression has so much personality, as does his stance and position, a fantastic piece!

For someone who says they don't know much about digital art, you certainly can still do it very well!

I've one critique though: the tattoos don't move with the shape of his arm (curing around the bicep, moving into the contours etc.) so they look slightly flat. I don't know if that can be fixed or changed, but may be something to have a tinker with!

But again, absolutely gorgeous.
