*For the record, I do NOT condone actual violence of any kind, this is just for cartoon-ish, dramatic effect! I'd never lay my hands on another person, especially over something so trivial. I'm just a triggered oldtaku and I don't like when uncreative people try to piggyback off the work of actual creative individuals and their hard work. Taking a successful title and putting it on a brick, doesn't make that brick special and further more, they can take their PC nonsense and go to hell.

I felt similarly to that Full Metal Alchemist live-action atrocity they call content. You’re not Disney, Netflix (tho Disney needs to cool it, too with their remakes for serious)

They messed up the anime adaptation. The people who were making it thought the only theme was good vs evil, and being grey. TOTALLY ignoring the real series was a commentary of the Japanese justice system.
The sad part is with Death Note with some changes they could just make the live action a spin-off where the main series already happened.

Sadly I never truly watch Cowboy Bebop, seen some bits of it when I was way younger, but sadly never seen the whole series. Wanna try to but I a binge on a good day mood.

Eh, give it a chance. Imo the live action Death Note wasn’t even that bad, however I do worry about the PC stuff you mentioned about being in Bebop but I did hear the original creator will be making it so maybe it’ll be good.

Why make a live action variation of CB? Just watch the anime if you wanna see something awesome.
I mean, even if the Death Note live adaption wasn't "that bad"... wouldn't you just rather watch the anime? in the realm of a visual medium, of course. It's just unnecessary.
It feels extra pointless to me.

Well, it is for the general audience hell even if it’s bad it’ll at least get people to check out the anime but if it’s good then it’s extra content for the fans.
I watched the entire Death Note anime and it was enjoyable until L died then his replacements really sucked and the ending sucked. It should’ve ended when L was beaten or at least make a better antagonist agianst Light.
I give the Netflix movie some credit for trying to do it’s own thing instead of copying the show entirely like the Japanese live action stuff. I liked Netflix Light because he at least had me on his side, he wanted to bring justice with the Death Note since his mother was killed and the guy who killed her was free. I had my doubts about Netflix L since I thought he was black for SJW reasons but honestly he did pretty good. He’s ticking time bomb ready to explode and his ending scene showed so much emotion, Will he go agianst the Justice He was fighting for or will he do things by the book? He was really conflicted. I’m not saying the characters or the entire movie was perfect, it’s just...okay with some great elements in it. There’s a good movie in there, it just needs the right director and writer to do it. Maybe the director of The Mist could’ve made this movie good, idk

As a fan, I don't see the point of an "adaptation" or anyone's "take" on the original.
Knowing that the anime is what it is and that it can't be "improved" or "topped" because's it's objectively a masterpiece.
I can already tell you that no matter what they do with the source material...One would be better off just simply watching the original.

I see it as another adaptation like a manga or anime because those are also adaptations with separate fanbases since some people prefer the manga over the anime and vise versa Hell there might be people who prefer the Netflix series.
Nothing is objectively a masterpiece, I didn’t really get into Bebop and I’m sure there are people with valid criticisms of the show.
Maybe or maybe not, what if it captures the same feeling as the anime? What if this is a diamond in the mountain of crap adaptations?

I can't get into an argument with you about objectivity and Subjectivity because i acknowledge that we all feel and see things differently!
We all have our opinions but if there is one singular thing I'd stand by in this world it's that Bebop is a masterpiece. It's a gold standard of what Anime can be.
People who don't even like anime or...heck even cartoons in general have sung Bebops praises.
but to double back to the original point, i don't care if this netflix show is good or bad... I'm against it's existence at all.

I was watching DBZ, Yuyu Hakusho, and G Gundum when I was a kid, things like Inuyasha, Bebop, and even Ghost in the shell didn’t interest me hell I found them boring. I’m more into high speed action personally.
Well, if that’s how you feel then that’s how you feel. I might not watch it either but I do hope it succeeds, I’m more looking forward to Netflix’s Death Note 2 tbh.
