Description Hello, this is my attempt at a iOS 7 inspired dock for OS X.

This is just a trick achieved by doing a few hacks to the regular dock.

I still have some questions though:
- does anybody know the location of the dock badge image resources ? ([link] couldn't find them in the Dock.app package...
- is it possible to have at least a non-dynamic icon for Calendar.app ? updating the icon doesn't prevent it from being covered by usual diagonal letters of month & date...

I just used the mask of ~iynque 's icons (1024*1024 PNGs) as a mask on screenshots of iOS7 on my iPhone (Retina). That's what I did for Facebook, Twitter, App Store and Game Center that are not included in the set.

A reply! yay! Thanks i'm kind of inexperienced with Photoshop terminology but I'm an avid paint.net user and i've learned to adapt pretty well could you explain what the mask is you're talking about? Know how this would work on rocketdock?

Yeah I would love to have photoshop but i'm a high school student and cant afford it when i talk about getting it with my parents they laugh because of the price tag XL

One last thing thanks for replying it means a lot now adays most people ignore people like me

It's 10.8 actually, but you can do the same on 10.9.

- dock is easily made invisible via Dock Designer www.moritzwette.com/dockdesign...

- I made this indicator f.cl.ly/items/0Y1F1L421p0t2N21... to match, has to replace the one in Dock.app/Contents/Resources

- background is just the desktop background with a blurred bottom this way f.cl.ly/items/3D1d3x2R1z1q320a... on the size you want your icons

- some of the icons are from ~iynque 's set browse.deviantart.com/art/iOS-... and some are edits from screenshots (phone icon is for Skype )

After having been reticent to the idea of using the same rounded square icons in the two systems, I actually think this would be the best solution to unify iOS and OS X experiences... Also, using the same color metaphors (e.g. green for all communication apps instead of Messages being blue on OS X only - EVEN with the silly reference to blue iMessages/green SMS in mind). And having separate Music, Video, iTunes Store and sync apps instead of the fat monster iTunes became (but that's another topic).

Unfortunately, Apple changed the way the dock behaves in 10.9, so this solution doesn't actually work. Too bad. I'll have to keep playing with the dock to work this out.

I'm curious: which version of OS X is this? I'm running the Mavericks beta and have been trying to find a way to change my dock to look similar to this for some time. Would you mind sharing? Thanks!

There is no way to get the dock to be COMPLETELY transparent unfortunately...
