Okay, I managed to colour this piece. The original pencil sketch can be found under my scraps section on this [link]Till date, I'm still heck off with my shadowing skills. It sucks! But well, it's supposed to be a sad scene, with Kim hospitalized, with Ron holding her hand, and Rufus trying to console the freckled guy.
Inked and coloured in Photoshop.

Right out of a fanfic I am working on; an original villain beats the stuffing out of Kim and tries to paralyze her. She wakes up in a hospital with a tearful Ron sitting nearby, and even gets an unexpected visitor: Shego, who was also badly beaten by this villain. Great use of emotion, excellent work.

LAWL NO WAI!!!
Five-ish long years ago, I wrote a fanfic that rotated around pure, rightous angstiness. The mental image in my head was almost exactly this, except Ron was on the opposite side of the...thingy. I'm pretty sure I had Kim die during this single scene... I'm trying to remember if I came up with some sort of deus ex machina to bring her back...I think I did, and I think that it revolved around A) Ron and B) self-sacrifice.

Amazing how this piece connects to a lot of fanfics. Needless to say I'm not that much of a KP fanfic fan. In fact, this idea came up whilst watching a Ron/Hermione scene in Harry Potter.

I think I should start wearing tin hats, because this is within 98% of what I was mentally picturing while writing a fanfic.

Kim grinned a little. She felt her strength gradually returning as she stayed awake.

As far as this picture goes, it amaze me how many fanfictions people come telling me it depicted. I think that itself is a great compliment to me. But how this whole idea came up was entirely from a different fandom. Like stated on my deviation's original pencil drawing ([link] ) remarks, I was watching the Ron/Hermione scene in the 2nd Harry Potter movie which just inspired this idea for Kim/Ron. Tee Hee! I guess, every ship has that similar moments.

Very good, don't worry about the shadowing, this still is a sad scene. Any possibility of switching things around? Maybe Ron risked his life to save Kim because he couldn't bare to go thru seeing Kim hurt again and now he's in the hospital.

This based on a specific fic or anything? just wondering, definately seems like Zaratan's Recovery/redemption set but that isn't unique by any means
i found shadows difficult until i read 'Drawing on the right side of the brain'.
Now, i can do them really well, i just can't pull shapes out of my mind thanks to lack of practice.

omg! I love this kind of hospital scenes, it's a classic! well you know, when I say I "love" them it means I think they're very emotional, and shows how much you care and love someone, well I hope you get my idea
