Wonderful rendition of a Hollywood icon. "Bogie" always affected a look of tired and cynical, world weary and seasoned.
Many people have seen the great love he shared with Lauren Bacall, but his personal passion was sailing. He had served as a US Navy enlisted "bluejacket" sailor in World War 1; his love of the sea was evident, and could be seen in in films like "To Have and Have Not" and "Key Largo".
Some say his finest work during the 1940's period was the beginning of "film noire", the dark, mysterious and dangerous genre that he excelled at.
He tragically passed away at the age of 58, leaving a film legacy rivaled by few.
