I know Hazbin has officially come out. As of right now, I haven't watched any episodes because I was waiting to finish my current art load and upload before I did. So no spoilers, please. And yes, I know sinners can't breed, but I don't care. In fanfictionland, anything goes, and that includes pregnancy. Idgaf.

Sooooo. I did a thing. 👀 This is the drawing I wanted to get done and posted on by New Year's Eve a few weeks ago, but couldn't because of work and other such bullshit, including a health scare in which I couldn't breathe properly for days (went to the hospital, and despite my problems, the tests all came back negative and nothing was apparently wrong with me. wat). But at least it went away and I finally can breathe deeply and normally again. So...think of this as a belated New Year's Eve/New Year picture.

Anyways! While it's still quite a long time before I delve into my fankid Valerie's arc in visual and story detail (I already told her entire story/arc in her profile/bio image because I"m lazy), I did want to draw this. The idea came to me spontaneously and I had to draw it.

So, some explaining here. Valerie is the daughter of Valentino and my OC Vixenia (I know sinners can't breed, but like I said, I don't give a fuck, it's my fanon and my own take on the series, and I'll do what I want). My regular fans/watchers who've read my comic story thing about Vixenia becoming pregnant through traumatic means by Valentino, someone she thought she could love and trust, know that by the end of that arc, Valentino is killed by Exorcists because he was way off the deep end and stuff and tried killing a pregnant Vixenia via Exorcists. So, yay, Valentino is no more, and Vixenia, and especially Angel Dust, can rest easy. But they still have nightmares and stuff, yadda yadda, it's explained in Valerie's bio in more detail, but Valerie looks a lot like Valentino, which brings up old painful memories. She doesn't know anything about her late father aside from his name, because her mom Vixenia, as well as the rest of the hotel staff, don't think telling a child the depths of depravity and evilness Valentino was very smart (especially Vixenia and Alastor, Valerie's adoptive stepfather and Vixenia's now husband). And Valerie felt like an outcast...blah blah blah,. she runs away from the hotel some time after she turns 17.

Eventually, led by her Overlord blood, she makes her way towards the Red Light District, around her father's old stomping grounds. Curious about the aura so similar to his former, deceased friend, Vox heads that direction in where he senses it. Eventually he meets her, and makes mention of Valentino, which gets Valerie's interest. So, Vox leads her to the V tower to meet Velvette since this new development is interesting.

By this point in time, the remaining Vees are worked hard, trying their hardest to find a replacement for Valentino's place, but no such luck the past 17 or so years. And honestly, Valentino's death sobered the two of them. It kinda...I don't know the word...mellowed them out? They're not as unhinged as befeore, and Vox especially has reconsidered his behavior and personality in the aftermath of it all. So he's not as "malicious" as he used to be, since Valentino was a close friend (in my fanon, he and Valentino never hooked up; they were close friends, but people easily mistook them as being in a relationship from time to time).

So yadda yadda, they all meet, Valerie wants to learn everything about her real dad, and they oblige in what they knew, but made sure to keep the more unsavory details out. Aaaand Valerie decides to join the two out of her own free will, to re-form (not change reform, but "get back together" re-form) the Triple Vees (or is it Three Vees? Fuck it, I"m going with Triple). Valerie decides to take over her father's place as the Overlord of the sex industry (but she's unsure in the beginning since she's a bit sheltered). A plan emerges between Vox and Velvette to use her as emotional ammo against the hotel for Angel Dust's and Vixenia's roles in Valentino's death...the TV and Doll don't have concrete proof, but the circumstantial evidence is substantial. And for Vox, especially to emotionally wound his rival Alastor as well. They plan to face off with the hotel folks in person in the near-ish future to do so, but not right now. So Vox and Velvette play nice and pretend to be friends with Valerie, only to keep her on their side. But as time goes on, while the plan is still in place, Vox and Velvette come to genuinely care about Valerie. And Valerie cared deeply about them even before they came around, because she trusts them and is happy to feel welcomed and know more about her real father.

And so, that's where this picture comes in: Valerie has been away from the hotel for months at this point, ignoring all attempts to contact her or begging her to come home, and the time comes for Extermination Eve. Vox and Velvette used to party with Valentino every Extermination Eve, and they'd been party-less for almost 18 years. But now that Valentino's daughter has showed up in their lives, and they have grown to genuinely care about her, they finally decide to celebrate the "holiday" again, making it a night to remember. A night to form new memories, a new beginning. I figure the trio have this picture taken and frame it next to old Ext Eve photos with Valentino. And of course it goes to the tabloids as well, with more news about the "new" Triple Vees.

Sorry for that long text, I just had a lot of context to add, in case this is someone's first time seeing my stuff with Valerie and all.

But yes, while this doesn't happen for a while, I just wanted to draw this for funsies, and as a way to be a preview for Valerie's arc if I ever get to it.

This was pretty time consuming, but it was a lot of fun! I took some inspiration from Voxtagram images for the three of them from the HH wiki galleries for each respective Vee. But I had no ideas for the background, really. It's a bit plain, but I didn't want them to be surrounded by TV screens. So I just settled for stripey wallpaper like that's seen in the Vees' Voxtagram posts. I had to trace Vox's head, because I can not for the life of me freehand it. orz As for Velvette (ffs, I keep wanting to spell it Velvet, like how it used to be), in the original sketch, she was holding the champagne bottle and shot the cork sky high in the air, but then I decided to change it so she's hugging Valerie, to make it more...meaningful? Sentimental? idk. Velvette took it upon herself to designate herself as Valerie's "bestie," even though Valerie's best friend is Desdemona Mayday. I had a difficult time with her hair, but I managed. I didn't want her to wear her usual outfit, so I opted to give her a short dress, reminiscent of her pilot dress. Kinda Harley Quinn-ish in mind, was what I was going for. As I said above, I haven't watched the episodes yet, again, please don't spoil anything in the comments so I don't know what she sounds or acts like, but I'm stuck in my earlier interpretation. Same with Vox, I have been headcanoning him as sounding like Mark Hamill (since the wiki said that was Viv's headcanon choice for Vox), but a bit gentleman-y as well. A touch of Vincent Price, too, maybe, since my one friend headcanons that's what he looked like when alive. But man, imagine my disappointment when the season 1 trailer came out and his voice was just..."basic." XD And I heard from a different friend who watched the leaked episode on YouTube before the show came out, that Valentino's voice is even worse than Vox's...hoo boy. Irregardless, I'm still sticking with Lawrence Fishburne as my headcanon voice for Valentino, and Mark Hamill for Vox. And I suppose something Harley Quinn-ish for Velvette. Oh well.

I also was holding off on continuing Valerie's stuff because, since Vox and Velvette are very important in her arc, I wanted to wait until the show was out to see what they're actually like. Well, I'll finally be able to. Probably Sunday after work, or something. I don't know. But even then, Valentino's death shook him and Velvette up a great deal that they're not exactly the same as they used to be, so eh.

Valerie's dress, I dunno, I just went with a dress I thought was fitting for her new ego and confidence. A friend shared a screenshot earlier yesterday of Vox, he was in his nice outfit with the gold chain, and I guess his arms really are black, but with a black...band around the bottom? For Valerie, I've just kept it as black. It's easily fixable, and even so, it looks this way perhaps as a result of her mother Vixenia's arms being similarly marked, but different. I don't know how to explain. Also, since when did Valentino get golden finger tip things, and like, crescent shaped stripes around the hips of his pimp robe? Why can't character designs be consistent? Why can't the redesign reveals be the end product? It's a nightmare for my perfectionism!!! Agh!!

Again, had no idea what I was doing with the background or for color choices. But I quite like the end result overall. The champagne glasses were a pain to deal with, i r dumb. Also, as I mentioned before in a past description, Valerie normally doesn't have eyebrows. However, she does have eyebrows depending on the expression or situation, kinda like Valentino. Sometimes he doesn't have eyebrows, sometimes he does; it just depends. I still think Velvette's raised leg is a bit too small/short, but believe me, I sketched it correctly before I cropped it to this size. So while her leg is anatomically correct (it's supposed to be her left leg raised up), it still looks small because of perspective and because I have no idea what I'm doing. And fun fact, trying to shade Vox was such a pain in the ass because of his blue color scheme. And god, I hate doing Velvette's hair swirlies. While her old hairstyle was a bit of a mess, at least the hair streaks weren't complicated.

So uhh, yeah, sorry for that hugeass amount of text. But yeah, I do really like this overall, even if the choice of colours and background was a pain in the ass. orz I swear, I spend hours on these drawings, and I just know I'll find a lot of mistakes after they've been uploaded. Gah.
