4. Caolam

It was starting to get dark as we approached the bridge. Good, I thought. More cover.
We positioned ourselves as planned in the shadowy concealment of the bridge, where we would have a clear view of the path but passers by would never think of looking.
All that was left to do now was wait.
So we waited.
And waited.
A few people walked past, but they were all either in too large groups or too old.
I could feel my heart in my chest counting down the seconds.
Marshall prodded me on the arm roughly and I turned to face him. I sensed rather than saw him slide something long and silver out of the inside of his jacket and press it into my palm. I glanced down and saw my face reflected in the sharp knife; a 17 year old boy with dirty blond hair and piercing blue eyes. My reflection frowned back at me. I raised an eyebrow at Marshall in question… this wasn't part of the plan.
"Use it." he mouthed.
I gave a sharp quick nod of understanding and slipped the knife into my pocket, keeping my right hand clenched firmly around the handle.
I only felt mildly sick.

After what felt like an eternity (though must have been only a matter of minutes) I saw a girl in the red and navy Fort Hill uniform approach. She looked about our age, maybe slightly younger. It was almost completely dark now, so there was no way she'd see us coming.
Excellent.
I watched as she made her way down the slope towards the bridge. The streetlamp nearby illuminated her face briefly as she floated by.
Fuck, she's hot.
Before I could give myself a chance to hesitate, I nodded at the guys in signal.
