Unless He told people He was the Son of God, however, He could not save them. He Did tell them, many times! But it was in obedience to the Father's will, for almost every time He did, they tried to kill Him, because it was considered blasphemy, a stoning offense. But He kept speaking the truth, and it was the one for which his enemies the Jewish religious elite, ultimately condemned Him, when he was brought before the Sanhedrin (the other, false, testimonies brought against Him did not stick, they conflicted with one another). When Jesus replied to the question, are you the Son of God, "I Am," the high priest tore his robes, and said, what more do we need to hear? Even though He later answered Pilate, it is You who have said so, He did not deny it, but said His kingdom is not of this world, or otherwise His people would have fought to save Him from being put to death. But it was for love, all the way, alone, that He gave His life for us.
