Taylor scowled in the salon chair as she saw her reflection back in the mirror. She couldn’t believe that this was happening. Damn Marilyn and her idea of a “professional haircut.” She could sense her snickering from her right side, since she knew her haircut was wrapping up as well.

“Well ladies I think you’re all done here.” The stylist smiled as she started sweeping all of the hair that had fallen on the floor. Between Marilyn and Taylor there was a mix of brown and red hair all over the floor.

“Come on Tay.” Marilyn said, a smile on her face.

“No. You don’t get to be happy about this.” Taylor huffed. She pushed Marilyn out of the way and walked to the front of the salon. “This whole thing was your idea.”

“Thanks.” Marilyn politely smiled as she paid the stylist and then hurried out the door behind her girlfriend. “Hey come on, I think you look really smart.” Marilyn tried to put her hand on Taylor’s shoulder but she shrugged it away.

“Oh please Mar.” Taylor exasperated. “I know Lisa said to get a professional cut before we started today, but I doubt this is what she meant!” She ran her hands over her head and felt nothing. Right. No hair now. That was going to take some getting used to.

“Oh come on Tay, it was heavily implied.” Marilyn laughed. “Did you really not know notice how pretty much everybody in that office was bald when we went for orientation?”

Taylor stopped to think. Shit. Marilyn was right. Almost everyone in the office was bald. There were a few people with fuzz on their heads or a rare pixie cut or two but mostly everyone was bald. She had been so nervous that didn’t have time to notice. Idiot. She should have noticed.

“It’s okay.” Marilyn smiled as she wrapped her hands around Taylor’s waist. “I think you look incredibly sexy in your uniform looking like that.”

“You do?” Taylor weakly responded. She had been too busy being annoyed and aggravated while her hair was being shaved that she didn’t have time to stop and think and really process what she looked like.

“I really do.” Marilyn kissed the top of Taylor’s head and giggled. “Sexy CEO. You can order me to do whatever you want later.” She winked.

“Well if you’re going to give that kind of power…” Taylor laughed as she kissed Marilyn on the lips. She held her hand and they started walking down the street to their new jobs. Maybe being bald wouldn’t be so bad.
