Metallix is his name from "Sonic the comic", which is non-canon btw.
This name has nothing to do with Sega or the original Sonic series.
His real name is "Metal Sonic".

Couple small things, I think the shadow on his ear should be darker than the part of his head in light, and there's what looks like a splotch of red outside his eye.

i think the red splotch you see is the glowing effect he has on his eye

I thought of that, but it isn't glowing everywhere, just one spot. If I wanted a glow effect, I'd had a faint, hazy wash of light around the eye, but it looked to me like he accidentally clicked next to the eye while he had a red brush out and didn't catch it.
