I was just putting the last two calligraphy pieces I've done away in my calligraphy folder when I saw this one that I did a few months back and evidently never uploaded.I'm pretty pleased with this. I think it's one of my best calligraphy pieces. I'll have to find that alphabet again!

I'll admit I have a fascination with butterflies, but the quote here makes them all the more beautiful. I love the idea and also love how steady your calligraphy is!

This piece is absolutely beautiful. This is actually the first piece of calligraphy that I have seen here on dA, and I am very impressed with it.
Your letters are very well done. I particularly like the imperfectness of them; none of them are exactly the same, which adds a personal touch to it. I imagine that calligraphy would be a very difficult and time-consuming form of art, since it is not only very exact, but it also requires the artist to convey their ideas and bring them to life through their writing. You have done this wonderfully! The alphabet that you chose to use for this piece has a combination of elegance and simplicity that embodies the butterflies in the quote.
I think that my favorite part of this piece is the composition. Not only are the letters positioned perfectly to convey the quote, but the butterfly in the top right corner adds more depth and meaning to the picture. I really like how simple the composition is, yet how appealing the piece as a whole is.
You definitely have a real talent for calligraphy. Keep up the good work!

Excellent composition here, the alignment and spacing of the butterfly with the text is just perfect, gives it a really nice, calm, smooth feel
Nice work on the little butterfly too, I love all the detail on it! Wonderful use of calligraphed lines within it to suggest movement, and I like how the drawing style ties it with the style of the words.

I think you did a great interpretation of this saying. The alphabet looks great, you are right there! And I think the butterfly is a really nice touch, giving just the right amount of detail to the "card". I know people who would buy this as a postcard just to hang it on their wall.
But, is that black dot under the butterfly intentional? It looks too small for it to be intentional. Maybe you could "erase" it? (I don't know whether it is possible to erase it on the original, black ink is a bit harder to get rid of then blue ink, but it should be easy on the digital version.)

It's almost certainly a dot on the scanner. Unfortunately, my cable that connects my scanner/printer to my computer is dodgy at best and so I have to go into university and use their ones. Perhaps when I have more time I can either re-scan it or alter the digital version. Thank you very much for your comments though!
