Description Silver sigh
and flames of dust:
you forget me.

I hesitate, pressed,
drumming answers of knives
into the night.

"Found poetry" (or "blackout poetry") is a type of poetry created by taking words, phrases, and sometimes whole passages from other sources and reframing them as poetry by making changes in spacing and/or lines (and consequently meaning), or by altering the text by additions and/or deletions.
(From Wikipedia .)

I hadn't thought before of letting the text underneath show through so I decided to give it a go that way this time.

In many ways, I feel that this is something I could not have come up with myself. I don't tend to use such "poetic" language - I feel awkward and a bit pretentious when doing so. Not that I think other people are pretentious when I do that; more that I worry about being seen that way myself. But this poem was just there, hidden, inside the text of Stardust. Which is a great book, by the way

Oh, I like this piece. It's very short, so easy to follow. Beautiful phrased, I like the part 'flames of dust' most for the and phrasing words but for the meaning or interpretation I liked the second part more since it looks more like one part to me.
Really great work!!

What a different concept. You'd have to really look hard on something to make it work.

You mean the found poetry altogether?

PHarold In reply to Itti [2012-03-03 06:01:20 +0000 UTC]

I guess what I meant is, finding the words you want on the page you've chosen.
