Description

It's been a while since I picked my species back up, but after some new developing, I discontinued its old iteration and redeveloped it into something new. I present to you, the new Scolat!

Scolats are food-based rodents. Their size can range from around a squirrel's to that of a housecat. Their design characteristics are based on their food theme, often having markings that look exactly like their theme. If you're not quite sure what it is, a "copy" of their food is always found in the mane. Don't try to eat it though; it's hard to bite and has stale flavor to most species. It's meant for the Scolat to eat, and the copies always grow back.
You can detect the scent of its food in their mane, and if you bury your hand inside, you'll find that the mane's temperature matches the food! Cold, room temp, or warm, it won't hurt you though. Depending on the food, the Scolat's mane can even change temperature.

Scolats are based off food and condiments (apples, burgers, tomato sauce, etc.). Fur colors and patterns coordinate with the food in their mane.
They are not allowed to be based on drinks (lemonade, soda, etc.). There are exceptions such as milkshakes, but please ask first about consumables like this.
It doesn't matter if someone's already designed a Scolat with a certain food. There's more than one way to cook or grow, and there's so many designing possibilities out there!

The scolat's design is based off food and condiments (apples, burger, ketchup, mustard, etc.). Food and/or condiment combinations must be fitting in some way. Please try not to make combinations such as pizza and cherries, ravioli and ice cream, etc. Drinks are not allowed (you cannot make a design based on lemonade, soda, etc.). Milkshakes are the only exception to this rule. Some even come with accessories! They are little pieces of food that are similar to the scolat's main theme in some way (eg. for a chocolate cake theme, a vanilla ice cream cone and cinnamon stick).
Since there is a wide variety of food, condiments, and combinations, it shouldn't be too hard to come up with a theme and a design! Don't worry if someone made a scolat that had the food you wanted; you make a scolat with any food, as long as its design is distinct from others.

Scolats are an open species. You may create, design, and post them as you please. You may also sell them as characters and adopts. Please do not breed any scolats without my explicit approval. Whenever you make a scolat, you must always credit me for the species. If you are somehow not able to credit me for a scolat in a post, do not post it.

If you have any questions about the scolat, please don't hesitate to ask me! I would also appreciate any critique you have to offer that would help improve my species.

head:

  • the head generally has the least amount of detail
  • the ears have at least 2 colours
  • The fluff on their head can have optional extra colours. However, that fluff is required.
  • scolats do not have long hair
  • Eyes can have any design, but they must have at least 2 colours. The most common design for eyes is a simple 2 colour gradient. Eye shape must stay the same.
  • Scolats generally have markings on their cheeks, but this is optional.
mane:
  • The mane is generally a gradient of 2 colours, but the 2 colours can be designed in other ways. It must have only 2 colours.
  • A piece of food that represents the scolat's theme must be included in the mane. The food can be stuffed in the mane in any way, but it must be visible enough for the viewer to tell what food it is.

body:

  • the body must have at least 1 marking

arms and legs:

  • arms and legs must have at least 2 colours

  • cannot be the same as the food in the mane
