I understand how you think, but keep in mind that all the characters are aged up for the occasion! I wouldn't wan't Hazel to lose her virginity at age thirteen, I'm thinking she's sixteen, so Piper is nineteen or something. I think Piper has gained some distance to the whole sex thing and is no longer even a tiny bit embarrassed by it. So when Hazel comes to her, red in the face, and stutter that she'd like Piper to give her some advice she becomes overly excited that her bestie is going to do it and sprints to the nearest sex shop and buy tons of stuff.
A bit like when parents get their first baby and buys shitloads of toysΒ andΒ clothes!
