Description Ā  It is an excerpt from my fantastic story "The Stairway of Universum". It is from the last part of it, which is called "The Black Tetrahedron". I have not finished it yet.
-------------------
It was a time of returning the Apsyhoses. The space society fought with Apsychosis. The cybernetic system of the Earth was destroyed. But other events were happening. The group of scientists found an ancient underground building in the Middle East. The age of this building was more than ten thousand years.
They found four triangle plates of black volcanic glass with unknown symbols inside. The plates lay in different parts of the building in special stone boxes. They put these plates on the table together. After some time, they felt bad. The symptoms were similar to the effects of powerful radiation exposure. Two scientists died. One of them was in a very hard state. The woman, whose name was Alicia, saw a picture from which she became speechless. The air near the plates became dark and red at some distance. The plates rose in the air and formed a tetrahedron.
Alicia tried to film this scene, but the camera didn't work. She tried to phone her old friend, who was the engineer, but the phone didn't work as well as the camera. Alicia thought that plates emitted something. She moved one hundred meters away and tried again.
The black tetrahedron was growing in front of her eyes. It stopped growing after it was seven or eight meters high.
There was a small town nearby, but no one human was nearby at that time. They had a jeep and one more machine. The phone was silent. The scientist ā€” a colleague of Alicia, who was ill, was in hospital in the town. She was alone.
Alicia sat into the jeep that stood fifty meters away. The phone turned on.
"Hello, Christian," Alicia said, "do you remember me?"
"I'm glad to hear you," Christian responded, "something happened, as I understand. You have a worried voice."
"You are an engineer, Christian, and work with materials with unusual properties," Alicia said, "Maybe you'll think that I am crazy. But I don't know what to do now. We found an ancient building under the ground and an unusual artefact. Two of my colleagues died as if from radiation, and one is in a hospital now. This devil's artefact flies in the air and creates some atmospheric phenomena. Iā€™m going from there because I fear. This thing became gigantic, and the phone with a camera doesn't work near this thing."
Christian would think about a prank, but he knew Alicia. He understood: she was scared by something and didn't joke. He didn't remember strange behaviour or empty fantasies from this woman who he knew from school. She became an archaeologist but didn't believe in mystical stories or aliens.
"I don't know, Christian," Alicia continued, "What can I do? Maybe I must phone the local authorities or my institute. And what can I say? Four triangle plates from volcanic glass are hanging in the air and form a tetrahedron with darkness inside. The air near this thing is red."
"Can you film it from a distance, Alicia?" Christian asked.
The camera turned on, too. Alicia did it and sent the video to Christian.
"Oh, My Got..." Christian said after he looked at the video, "Run from there, Alicia. It could be anything. We see anti-gravity, the absorption energy of light from surrounding space. It is beyond all our modern technologies."
Alicia got the jeep started and went from there.
"I feel nausea, Christian," Alicia said, "I feel bad."
"How long have you been working with these plates?" Christian asked.
"My colleagues have been working with it for more than twenty-four hours. I've been working almost two hours."
"I guess this thing can cause the electron capture by the nucleus and transformation of chemical elements," Christian said, "but I only can guess now. You need treatment, Alicia. You worked with this ancient surprise less."
Alicia went to the hospital. She felt worse. Her third colleague died, too. Several days have passed. The great events in space were unnoticed by humanity: the civilisation of Apsyhoses was defeated. Alicia lay in a hospital room. She had known that Christian showed the video to his boss, and they organised the secret expedition. No one from the government of this country or ordinary people has heard about the strange phenomenon, so maybe this object is hidden in some way.
"You have a visitor," the nurse informed her.
Alicia thought to see Christian, but it was an unknown man. The man wore black sunglasses and a business suit.
"Nice to meet you, Alicia. My name is Marlavrok."
"Strange name," Alicia thought, "who is he?"
"I am from the organisation that is interested in situations similar to yours," Marlavrok continued, "I won't ask you about your old friend. I can help with your health problem. This problem is serious."
Marlavrok came closer and said quietly: "Your doctors don't know what to do: you understand it, Alicia."
Alicia heard the sirens blaring on the street.
"Alicia!" the strange man told her, "This is a special service. The information from the firm of your friend Christian leaked. They will interrogate you, but they can't help you. We have no time. Those plates made irreversible changes in your body. You feel worse, and this will continue."
Alicia understood that she would die. She saw the fruitless efforts of doctors.
"I think no one will make my situation worse than it is," she said, "But I don't want the endless interrogating before death."
"Excellent, Alicia," Marlavrok responded, "We understood each other. You will not regret it."
Marlavrok helped her to raise and led her out of the hospital room.
"Lady wants to be discharged from the hospital," he said to the nurses, who were shocked, a little, and didn't know how to react.
He led her out on the street and sat her in the flying machine.
"This is the last secret model of the flying car," he said trickily and with light irony.
Alicia heard the sounds of shooting.
"What is it?"
"They shoot us, my darling Alicia," Marlavrok said and smiled, "but this is useless."
The machine rose in the air and moved forward with crazy speed. Alicia didn't feel the inertia from acceleration.
There was the screen. The inscription that appeared there said: one minute to the jump.
"This is unexpected, a little," Marlavrok told her, "You understand that a surprise waits for you."
The minute passed, and the picture beyond the windows of the flying car was changed abruptly. Alicia was shocked. She saw an unknown world. It was the planet Earth. But she saw unfamiliar mountains, a river and a city in the air. Is it aliens, the world of the future or an alternative world?
"This is an alternative world, Alicia," Marlavrok responded to her thoughts, "the third variant."
The machine landed among the square. There were several people. Marlavrok helped her to exit the car. Alicia saw that these people were strange a little: they had yellow irises of eyes.
"Hello, Uargera," Marlavrok appealed to one of the women.
Other people were speaking an unknown language.
"This girl is mortally ill," Uargera said, looking at Alicia, "We need to fix you, baby, and then we speak."
Uargera belonged to an unknown human race but looked the same age as Alicia.
They lay Alicia in some capsule, and Alicia fell asleep. She woke up without nausea and other unpleasant feelings.
