Everything in the picture is so amazing and expressive. My favorite part would have to be the bird however. The piece would be able to stand alone without it, but with, it's just all the more impressive--such a little cutie too~!

This reminds me of my days in band class. I was just learning a new instrument (the clarinet) so it was a difficult class, but enjoyable nonetheless!

I played a flute in junior high school. Many decades have passed since then ... and I was not able to keep my flute ... and hence, I no longer can read music, let alone play. (I only mention the flute because I had to Google "Euterpe" ... and it was there that I read she was a muse that played the flute.) But what fascinates me about this painting is: There is distance between her and the saxophone (I think it's a saxophone) ... and in that distance is "something" ... I don't know what. And it's hard to tell if the something is exiting or entering her body. So, I conclude it is more than mere breathe. It is SPIRIT. LIFE. She is the music ... and the music is her. Beautiful.
