Gotta say, I'm liking the not-clueless Pap's we've got going on here, and the 'Sans is actually talking about stuff once its clear that there's no hiding it' thing. This story seems to have enough content in it that it doesn't need to be padded with frustrating misunderstandings when people don't communicate with each other, and that's a good thing in my books.
