Beautiful in its simplicity. Love that thin, tenuous strip of red; like all of the dissatisfaction and frustration can be distilled into one single thread. Now if only we could find the pair of scissors to cut it, eh?

Please tell me how you make it be so simple I'm always finding myself making my drawings overly complicated and detailed and skjfdnsj help ;-;

Honestly, don't draw with the intentions to make your drawing look full and bright and plentiful of action, just let the pen fly. Sometimes it happens, depending on the mood of the artist, however I usually draw things depending how I feel. It's not a specific technique or a special tactic. I've been feeling empty and confused lately, hurt, which is where this arose from. I thought the lack of colour would represent well the feeling of blankness and unimportance would feel, and I gouged out the eyes to show how blind I've been for the last 9 months. Much pain ensued.
I guess you draw full and bright drawings because it's how you feel. I love simplifying my work because I can create something beautiful, meaningful and that isn't too busy all at once. It usually happens in my vent art creations.
Busy drawings are not a bad thing though.

I just absolutely loved the style and was trying to make my current drawing look more simple like yours, but it's so hard.. ;A; and to me the face looked like those awesome japanese ( I think ) masks. ;v;
I would love to learn to draw in a more simple style because drawing so many details makes me tired and I end up giving up on the drawing because I don't feel like finishing it anymore. D: so simple drawings are faster and easier on my hands and head, though I just can't do it. ;-; I've been used to drawing as many details as possible which makes everything 109243290482039x harder. ;_;

Details are good, they're never a bad thing. You just have a short attention span for them. Honestly when I'm faced with a brutally detailed drawing, like my <--- I tend to get a little discouraged too. It took me a whole four days to finish, but I'd draw in sectors of 1-3 hours, because I'd get bored of doing the same thing over and over again. When drawing something complicated, just take breaks. But make sure you just don't start something new in the process, because you'll dump the drawing. Don't worry, I could show you my hard drive FULL of unfinished sketches, drawings, some are coloured, shaded, some I just gave up on because I couldn't make the background I wanted. There's a finicky process in drawing which is why my gallery is only updated once a week or so, then there's all the traditional drawings that I'm too lazy to scan and post. I know the feeling you have though, you feel like you have to add fur details/complicate something in order for it to be good looking. You don't have to completely change your style! Sometimes I'm just in a really lazy mood and this is what I come up with.
And what I've realized is that people tend to gravitate towards my simpler drawings because they portray more emotion and are easier on the eyes. It doesn't have to be a blue line painted across a white canvas simple, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what you're doing right now in your art.
And yes, the whole white and mask-looking face was to prove a point, you're good

I guess I have a good eye for stuff like that then haha xD sometimes I tend to see stuff in a more abstract way before noticing the literal meaning ;v; while my drawings are more stuck in 'reality'. The irony! Must say the face looks really good. Well the whole drawing does! You should be very happy about it
And I see now I'm not the only one with one hundred scrapped drawings and almost no finished ones. My inspiration only lasts for so long! xD and my bad habit is draw a lot, then get tired of it and move on to another idea x-x I should take more breaks.. and thanks for the tips! ;u; very glad I watched you.
