Birth place: Germany but he has been raised at Saga Prefecture [Kyūshū]
ROUGH ROUGH ROUUUUGH STORY

Klaus is the son of Jintoh, a wise and peaceful dog who ruled a little pack of dogs. Having never known his father, murdered by a dog eager to expand its territory, Klaus grew up remaining in his father's shadow. Wanting to be recognized for the dog he is and not as a "son of", the young Klaus persisted in desiring to make himself known even to make a mark on everyone's minds with the most negative ways.
Not hesitating to crush anyone who stands in his way, Klaus has quickly made a name in his native region. Just as quickly, he's intercepted by the former comrades of his father who refuse that he tarnish anymore the name of Jintoh. After a good beating, Klaus agrees to withdraw and become a member - and especially a pariah - of the Kyushu army.
He became - with difficulty - friends with Suekko. He's the only dog in the army who trusts him and defends him when everybody wants Klaus to be exiled because of what he did. Suekko fights heart and soul against those who want the faulty son of Jintoh dead. The poor Koga dog is seriously injured, Klaus is strangely thankful and accompanies him to the next village for him to be healed by men.
Klaus and Suekko end up traveling together.
TRIVIA -

Klaus was born in Germany but his mother - a dog of the German Army - bring him to Japan when a was young.
Japanese breeds are weak breeds according to Klaus. He prefers German breeds and giant breeds.
