Description
The city is warm and muggy, the streets perpetually under at least a few inches of water. The barrier is bright enough to light the ruins like a surrogate sun, dimming as evening draws near and brightening in the day. Salty water leaks from breaches, but plant life manages to flourish regardless, a tough sort of plant that is edible (if disgusting), and can be twisted to make rope or piled up for bedding. The buildings are marked inside and out with scribbles and graffiti, some worn away by ages, others fresh, still wet and red. Occasionally a gigantic shadow passes overhead, reminding you that even when you can see no one, you are never truly alone or safe in this strange city.
