WarriorsRewritten is a project between AnnMY , tori-oislove and myself that aims to fill plot holes, fix inconsistencies, and apply proper feline genetics to the random sparklecats of the Warriors universe.So here's our rendition of young Thornclaw! I honestly never imagined him so fluffy, until learning years later that Lionheart was his father. After that, it just felt criminal that none of his four kittens were long-haired monsters like him!
As for his character... that's still under wraps, because he went under such a dramatic change after The Darkest Hour. As an apprentice, he was very similar to his older brother, Brackenfur... not a tom you'd imagine training the Dark Forest later in life (though I am also convinced that it was another case of pulling names out of a hat for Erin and that stupid plot...)
We're going to find a solid middle ground for this fluffbutt, and maybe break the tradition that having the "-claw" suffix immediately makes you a righteous asshole... lol.

Cinderpelt is indeed long-haired in our version, but her fur is sleeker, following a Turkish Angora style more similar to Frostfur's than Lionheart's.

Yeah... there are certainly a lot of "-falls" in present day ThunderClan... which is so odd, because it's such a vague suffix. What is it even supposed to mean? A name is meant to represent a cat... I am utterly confused what kind of positive connotation it could have, while reflecting a cat's appearance or values. Sigh.
Ash, Squirrel and Bramble's quarrel will not change drastically, but Ashfur will not be excused from his actions on the account of "loving too much." Bah.

He seems to be a bit more fluffier than Lionheart (just a tad), but that is good. He can walk in the snow and cold with no worries (that or his littermates use him as a heating pad XD)

I wonder if they even got a chance to play with him. They seemed to be old enough in one scene where they were watching the apprentices. But one was said to be black, and Brightheart was called a tortoiseshell.

I'm sure they did. As busy as Lionheart was, he seemed like the tom who would no doubt make time for his children. He was very proud of them.
We are, of course, disregarding the tortoiseshell thing, but amber kittens are born black and fade to amber as they reach maturity, while our Cinderpelt is a black smoke, so either way that's consistent with us.

Wouldn’t it work the same for torties as it would for a normal amber cat? It’s born dark, but lightens up until it is the rich color Ann used for Goldenflower?
That means Brackenkit or Thornkit could have been the black kitten seen in that one scene.

Will you guys have a mate for Thornclaw? I have grown rather fond of Thorn x Daisy myself, if only because I always assumed that Daisy is around the age of Thorn and Cloud. It took my quite the debate, but I told myself that Spiderleg and Whitewing can be just as convincing parents for Dove and Ivy (as I got an odd urge to ship Ashfur with Floss...)
